Edinburgh is 1 in rush D while WY is 2. To me, those add up to where you call it a wash & go on to look at passing O/D. Both are middle of the pack throwing w/ a slight nod to Edinburgh, but again, yards/completion is almost identical. So IMO it comes down to passing D & that's where WY earns the right to be called the best in A1.

Sure, you could probably go down the line of teams they've both played & margins of victory associated but in GLB, like real football, that doesn't do much for me.

I'm just honored that my comment provided such a juicy nugget of forum banter...the majority of my APRs only get a passing interest.

Why stop there? I mean, both teams have given up 20 total TD's this season, while WYW has 75 TD's to the Knights' 89 (which they did in fewer plays than the Wolverines, I might add).

Personally, I think if they meet the Knights' O vs. the Wolverines' D will be the marquee matchup, and I still think it's a wash. I also think this bickering is pointless, and I really hope we get to settle this on the field.

Also, your rankings have gotten more than passing interest from me, they're definitely more fun to read when someone else wrote them

So what that also could just mean that the defense in Zeta is just weaker than it is in Alpha. When you are comparing two teams that aren't in the same conference that means you are comparing apples to oranges because neither team plays the same opponents. So their stats could be skewed based on how bad/good the teams in their respective conference are

Just another reason these comparisons are ridiculous.

So, we're agreed that using arbitrary stats compiled against completely different competition is in no way a good means of deciding which team is better? Excellent.

Now, if we can just agree that wins and losses in the preseason are just as poor a barometer, then we're getting somewhere. Who's with me?

Yea that dont mean anything unless both parties to set tactics for the game and that just leads into a whole other bag of tricks, oh i forgot to set it, well i didnt try too hard, blah blah blah.

But I will say this it does give you an idea of what that game will be like since like you said 50% of the game is tactics and both of you truly didnt set tactics for the game, by your logic the Wolverines have the game half won by proving they have the better talent

OH MY GOD. I cannot believe that we continue to discuss what a 6-point win in a preseason game means in terms of which team is better.

Do IQs drop as the season drags on? Since that PRESEASON game players have boosted and trades have been made. We have 9 different starters from when that game was played. And I'm sure WYW has made several changes as well. And both teams have a very different understanding of how the AI works since then.

And I never said I didn't set tactics for that game. I set very specific tactics because I wanted to highlight one specific aspect of our team and see how it worked.

I really can't believe there are so many of you pushing this idea that a meaningless preseason game played a month ago provides us a real window into how a possible championship matchup would look. That total lack of understanding is probably a good window into why you guys won't be competing for said title.

i am agreeing with you and you bash me all because i pointed out a flaw in your logic. I dont know how else to say it, thought it would be clear...

Yes, you agreed with me with the first thing you said. But then you followed up with this:

I think if you re-read what I wrote you'll see that this is what I was responding to.

And I'll be the first to concede that if we played the Irish Car Bombs today, our preseason win over them earlier this season would be absolutely meaningless.

And of course, if we are fortunate enough to face WYW in the championship, and they beat us, they would be deserving champions.
