Of course they aren't but they are pretty much the only 2 we are given. I like John McCain as a person, but I disagree on his stance with staying in Iraq. He also wants to take a harsh stance with Iran which would probably lead to another war there. McCain wants to send more troops to Iraq and increase the size of the military which would only be possible by reinstituting the draft. I don't know about you but I don't want to die in some sand box for some people who are just going to kill each other anyways. We should pull our troops out and if they want to kill each other go for it! We will even sell you the weapons to do so. If Iran wants to get involved in it let them get their people killed over there.

In the USA, the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) defines it more broadly as "a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in real GDP, real income, employment, industrial production, and wholesale-retail sales."[1] Newspapers often quote the rule of thumb that a recession occurs when real gross domestic product (GDP) growth is negative for two or more consecutive quarters. However, not only is this a flawed measure that fails to register several official (NBER defined) US recessions, the quotation has been taken out of context from a 1974 New York Times article that listed a number of rules of thumb, the rest of which have been ignored.
I see you dug that up on wikipedia which is also a reprint from the economics section from about.com and is an opinion.
A recession is not a "feeling". It's not a "state of mind".
A recession is by definition is and I quote investopedia "The technical indicator of a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth as measured by a country's gross domestic product (GDP). This is the definition that economics gives it. Have you taken any economics classes? You should have if you went to college.
Question, do you have a job? Do you sit around talking about recession at work? If so, we probably aren't in a recession. Unemployment often shoots up by a large percentage when we have a recession and that's not happened. If it was around 7 or 8% then I would be wary but this is just not the case right now.
"The current economic plan is a derivative of the Bush administration's economic plan. The current economic plan must change in order to avoid a recession or remove the effects of the 'supposed' current recession."
Do you know what Bush's economic plan is? What is Obama's plan? Has he even stated what he has in store other than saying that he would raise taxes on the rich because they "already have enough". This is not the answer.
Much has been made about the middle class shrinking. Well guess what, the upper class has grown. Is that a bad thing?
If Bush's economic plan was that bad then why last year did we have one of the strongest growing economies in history?
My wife can attest to this, I've been touting for a long time that we are in for a tough time in the credit world. The U.S. has for a long time had a negative savings rate. That's right, we spend more than we save. How is that? Credit plain and simple. Credit is not a good thing and people use credit cards like they are going out of style. Borrowing money is nothing to most people. Absolutely ridiculous!
Anyway, I'm not crazy about either candidate. I've never been a supporter of McCain. I will vote McCain because he is more conservative than Obama and is in line more with my beliefs than Obama.
We as a people are responsible for us, McCain is not gonna save us, Obama is not gonna save us, Hilary is not gonna save us. Need I say more?
I have more but I'll save that ammo for now. Please consider thinking about what you will vote for, Republican and Democrat.

I to would agree with that. First, we were misled into the war in Iraq. Second, where we should have concentrated our attack is in Afghanistan/Pakistan searching for the culprit of 9/11 not attacking a different area on a whim.

OK...now you really can't argue the fact of 'experience' considering McCain has selected someone with less experience as his running mate for VP. Talk about pandering to a crowd...Yikes!
Although I must admit...she is kind of hot...for an older woman. Call her a cougar.

How come it's always the ones who know the least about a topic that talk so much? Listening to a particular side of this conversation is like sitting in front of CNN all day. I like to hear personal opinions about stuff, not just regurgitation's of the media...
And for the record, had we stayed in Afghanistan so long, we would still be there just like we are...and we would have accomplished FAR less. There is a lot that has gone on that both the media and general public (and even 90% of the soldiers in the field) don't know about...just something to think about.
