The biggest problem with doing something like the Aikman ratings is that they require a league history. Currently, I think it uses the last 10 years or something like that.

First, we don't have 10 years, since this is only season 4...and secondly with the teams changing every season, this would be hard to do. I could probably come up with something, but the biggest thing is that the rules/sims keep changing all the time, so it's not really accurate to compare games/stats from this season to those from season 1, 2, or 3, because so much has changed.

This might be something that could be implemented in the future, but for now, it's nearly impossible.

Having said that, I'll look at those formulas again and see if there's something there I could base a tweak to my formula on.

I have a hunch that if I increase the reward for scoring points, and the reward for long plays, that will help. You get a bonus for scoring a TD, but it's not humongous.

Right now, two teams going 90 yards to score a TD, where 1 does it in a single play, and the other does it in 12 plays....the teams don't get anywhere near the same score. The 1 play team gets cut short, because they just get the point for that single play, whereas the other team has 12 plays to rack up points. Without running the numbers, I'm going to estimate that the 12 play team could earn somewhere around 5x as many points as the single play team. I still think that the sustained drive indicated a better team, where the 1 play guys may have just gotten lucky, but this is something I'm going to tweak. May try to make sure that the 1 play guys get at least 75% of the points a sustained drive could earn.

I do agree that there is something wrong with it. If I had to rank it based on what I have seen out of the teams so far I would put it like this:

1 - Lincoln Navigators (W) (12-0-0)
2 - Hollywood Misfits (E) (11-1-0)
3 - San Francisco Webzoners (W) (10-2-0)
4 - Beer Town Brawlers (E) (11-1-0)
5 - West Coast Llamas (W) (10-2-0)
6 - Iowa City Pariahs (E) (9-3-0)
6 - Windsor Warriors (E) (9-3-0)
6 - Windycity Menace (E) (9-3-0)
9 - JetNation Juggernauts (W) (10-2-0)
10 - Yazoo City Saints (W) (8-4-0)
11 - Los Angeles Arsenal (W) (9-3-0)
12 - Dread City Diabolicals (W) (8-4-0)
13 - VEGAS Goodfellas (E) (8-4-0)

I think the many gutted teams in the West is fucking with the numbers pretty hard. The difference between the #2 and #10 positions is marginal at best. Any one of those teams could win on any day. The #11-13 positions would need to play a perfect game to beat #1-10. Lincoln is playing some serious ball this year (as usual) and I don't see them being here another season.

The problem is that you guys got spanked 35-14 by an East team who is self admitted to having piss poor player builds HAHA ! Kidding.

ROFL yeah they are piss poor. We just know how to game plan and set a great AI up. Just wait for the real team to come back to A#2. We might even get lucky enough and beat out one of the gutted teams that will most likely come to the east next year and not even move
