Better late than never.
1. Edinburgh Black Knights (10-0) (Last: 1 Best: 1)
Won an absolute shootout over the Vikings. Really faded down the stretch, and couldn’t seem to stop Brady Badazz in the second half. The only potential threat left on their schedule is Schiffertown, everyone else is in the bottom half of the conference.
2. Glasgow Tigers (9-1) (Last: 2 Best: 2)
Put a beatdown on the Jovi, not allowing a TD until the 4th quarter. They can’t rest easy though, the Tigers don’t have an easy game until week 16 against Alpha’s Dublin Fightin’ Leprechauns.
3. Milan Cock Fighters (7-2-1) (Last: 4 Best: 3)
Won their last gimme of the season with style. Put it in cruise control in the second half and still put up 24 points. A tough matchup with Bonn Jovi today precludes an even tougher matchup with Glasgow.
4. Tilburg Power (7-3) (Last: 5 Best: 4)
Belfast hit them in the mouth early, even going up 14-7 with 6:00 to go before halftime. The Power responded, and shut the door in the second half. They’ll beat Chaos today before facing a slew of top teams.
5. Schiffertown Griffin’s (7-3) (Last: 7 Best: 2)
Their 28-point 4th quarter rivaled the comeback of the Frank Reich-led Buffalo Bills over the Houston Oilers in the 1993 AFC Wild Card game. Granted, the Bills’ win had real-life implications and GLB is all just bits of code, but it’s still impressive. Just a few more hurdles remain, but I expect the Griffs to contend for homefield advantage.
6. Icelandic Vikings (7-3) (Last: 3 Best: 2)
Played a hard-fought game against the Knights, just couldn’t pull off the upset. For the first time all season, the Vikes were out-pancaked. I don’t think that’s going to happen twice in a row.
7. Middlesbrough Mayhem (6-4) (Last: 9 Best: 5)
Took advantage of South Beach’s struggling defense, and put up 76 points on 633 yards of total offense. They’ll find Belfast a bit tougher to push around, but they should push them around nonetheless.
8. Bonn Jovi (6-4) (Last: 6 Best: 3)
Can’t dwell on their loss to #2 Glasgow, because #3 Milan is up next. It’s do-or-die time for the Jovi, because a loss here would put them dangerously close to .500 with 4 top teams remaining.
9. Trillville Hoods (6-4) (Last: 7 Best: 3)
For every great comeback, there is a colossal meltdown. I’d hate to be in the Hoods’ locker room after that game. The Hoods have to pull themselves together, though, because Glasgow’s plane just landed.
10. Frankfurt Universe (5-5-1) (Last: 10 Best: 6)
Hope springs eternal for the Universe, who notched their first win since week 3. They’ve still yet to beat a team in the top half of the conference, but luckily for them their next opponent isn’t in the top half of the conference.
11. Jamaica Rumrunners (3-7) (Last: 13 Best: 11)
Great all-around game against the floundering Huskies. Their next game is a winnable one against Frankfurt. When I say winnable, I mean they must, at all costs, win this one to compete for the playoffs. The Rumrunners will be a force to be reckoned with in Season 5.
12. Belfast Shamrocks (3-7) (Last: 11 Best: 11)
The Shamrocks continue to play everyone tough, and continue to come up just short. Unfortunately for them, it’d take a 5-1 run to close the season out to even sniff the playoffs, and with their schedule I don’t see it happening.
13. Oakton Huskies (3-7) (Last: 12 Best: 3)
Followed up their smashing win with a smashing loss to the Rumrunners. I’m still amazed that they’ve played the entire season with only two CB’s on their roster. Those guys must be worn out by now.
14. South Beach Sharks (1-9) (Last: 14 Best: 13)
Continue to really struggle on the defensive side of the ball. In truth, they’re struggling on both sides of the ball, but even with the New England Patriots’ offense they’d have trouble finding wins.
15. Chaos Engine (0-10) (Last: 15 Best: 11)
Don’t know what to say about these guys anymore. It’s a shame there’s no Western Europe BBB league.
16. Las Vegas Lunatics (0-10) (Last: 16 Best: 16)
