Okay folks... we're 10 games in, which makes math real easy for some random stats. I know everyone hasn't played everyone yet.. .but here are some stats that interest me.

Also, this is done as a stream of consciousness, so it's not overly prepared like BuddyHorn's writeups are. I'm just going with it.

First off, remember Samuel Clemens' (Mark Twain's) quote... "There are three types of lies : lies, damn lies, and statistics"

----- PASSING -----
Generally completing 60% of your passes is a QBs goal in the real world. As you throw more, that goal becomes more difficult, as the more one-dimensional a team becomes the easier they are to stop, right ?

The Drew Bledsoe Award
In 1994, Drew Bledsoe's 2nd season he broke the NFL record for pass attempts in a single season with 691 attempts (just over 43 att/game), completing 58% of those passes, and achieving 6.6 yds per pass attempt. However, his team went 10-6 and lost in the 1st round of the playoffs.

This award goes to two QBs that are on pace to have more attempts than any NFL QB ever has in a season while completing over 60% of passes, and averaging over 7 yds/att and 10 yds/comp. Let's hope these two QBs don't suffer the same way Mr. Bledsoe did in the playoffs, but the feat is amazing nonetheless.

George W. Bush -- Oklahoma Thunder
#1 Elvis Presley -- Washed Up Rock Stars

----- PASS BLOCKING -----

While we're on the subject, let's not forget to mention the Washed Up Rock Stars OL protection thus far. They're only allowing one sack per 87.8 attempts.

Unfortunately, they are 2nd to the DC Warriors, who allow one sack per 102 1/4 pass attempts.

The USA Eagles are an anomaly as they allow more sacks (4.7/g) than hurries (2.8/g). Does that mean their QB does not have a good pocket presence ? I don't know.

----- RUSHING -----
I just found a stellar RB in USA A#1 who has only lost 1 fumble in his career in over 850 carries ? That RB is Allen Rainey Jr. of the OKC Spartans.

Jamal Anderson Award
As you may or may not know... Jamal Anderson broke a 14 year standing record for most carries in a season with 410. 8 years later, Larry Johnson in 2006 broke the record to 419. This is approx 26 carries a game, a tremendous workload for a NFL RB. However, Jamal Anderson was a few carries short of actually having more rushes than the entire *team* had passing attempts ! The two RBs that are responsible for accomplishing a similar feat are :

Iowa Jones -- Carribean Sphere
Slasher Dasher -- H-Town Hitmen

----- RECEIVING -----

Greg Jennings Award
I almost called this the Cris Carter award... why... "Because all he does is catch touchdowns !".

So if you didn't play fantasy football, let me clue you in. In only 13 games last season, Greg Jennings had 53 catches, and 12 of them for TDs, and also averaged 17 yards a catch. I can't figure out if the yds per reception (50+ reception season) is a record or not. I also can't recall if the TD catches to receptions ratio is a record, but I have a feeling it is. One TD per 4.5 catches is slightly ridiculous. (ASIDE : I was going to give this to two WRs, but I just can't... one is way ahead of the others.) The award goes to :

Ashraf Abdelmohsen -- Oklahoma Thunder
(16.8 yds/catch, 1 TD per 3 catches, 39 catches, 13 TDs, 655 yds)

----- KICKING/PUNTING -----
Well, this sucks... I keep forgetting there's no inside the 20 & inside the 10 punter stats. Sorry punters. Props to Ralph Mayo from the Orlando Dogg Pound for currently having the lead in avg P yards even while punting 4 times/game.

Kicking, I've got nothing. They don't report touchbacks...
a 37s from the Dallas Horns is a perfect 14 of 14 on the year, but has only attempted 2 kicks over 40 yards. Weff Jilkins from the Eleven Wise Monkeys is 19 of 20 and is 5 of 6 over 40 yards. Weff also has a lower KP % (94.4) than FG % (95). Explain that one.

There's one kicker who is worse from <40 than from 40+, but it's only by a half a percentage point, and therefore not worth mentioning. Not a lot of FGs this season, folks.

----- DEFENSE -----
Runstuffer McBadass of the H-Town Hitmen is an interesting case. As the starting DT for his team, he has more hurries than tackles ! Despite 18 tackles and 29 hurries, he has yet to register a sack. I'm thinking he has a really strong base and really short arms with tiny hands. I'd like to heckle further, but he is leading the league in hurries.

Anthony Scirrotto of the Compton 'nilla Wafers is a SS who is 3rd in the league in tackling with 9.9 tackles a game. He also has only 4 missed tackles. That's pretty solid.

I was going to look at the missed tackles/tackle ratio for the unfortunate end of that statistic, but the SF Stonecutters are messing that stat up big time.

Terrell Buckley #27 of the Eleven Wise Monkeys was 2nd in the league in SE Asia AAA in INTs during Season 2. During that season he had 25 PDs and 11 INTs. This season he already has 26 PDs (12th in A#1), however, he can't seem to hold onto 'em... 0 INTs.

(You didn't think I was going to write up all of this without mentioning a teammate did you ? Moving on....)

Steve D of the Austin Longhorns and Snow Cap of the Carolina Hammer both have 4 INTs this season, but have returned those 4 INTs for 140 yards.

Contrast that with Cuz I'Can from the Canton Hall Of Famers, tied for 3rd in the league with 7 INTs, but has 11 return yards on those 7. He must be getting hammered immediately upon intercepting the ball. Mad props for holding onto the ball after the INT.

This is a defensive & offensive stat. The Care Bears have a guard named Baby Hugs Bear who's having a solid year with 51 pancakes. However, the impressive thing about him is noticing he has 3 tackles, and on 2 of them, he forced a fumble ! Put that Bear on the defensive line !

Last but not least... Ramolo Graziano of the Baltimore Blood Ravens is averaging 94.3 plays a game ! That may be some kind of record for a defensive player. Pass the gatorade.

Anyway.. umm... I should really be doing other things. In fact... I hope my account didn't timeout while writing this...

Nice write up and I loved the humor being thrown in.By the way Runstuffer has no hands he just uses his nubs to club lineman into submission.

You sure he's not just headbutting them into submission ?

I'm glad the humor came off correctly... not trying to slight or insult folks, it was just stats that lined up in a unique way.

nice job man. good read. Its worthing noting that of the 4 sacks DC has given up this season, 3 of them were courtesy of the Orlando Dogg Pound. Propps to the Dog Pound

I'd rather not see that stat

That one fumble loss is so much about luck. Last year I fumbled 10 times and only lost one. It was crazy.

Nearly impossible too without going through game by game and figuring out which fumbles recovered were by the defense and STs...last season the Drillers were +24 or something I think, but I couldn't be sure...the numbers didn't add up right when I started looking at fumbles...

I think it's funnier that Rainey has 46 touchdowns already after having 16 all of last season. I know the gutted teams inflate that a bit, but geez...
