1. Calgary Destroyers (6-0)
Previous: 2 High: 1 Low: 2
And then there was one. The Destroyers remain the only unbeaten after disposing of the Manitoba Lions. The defending champs aren’t always dominating but they always get the W. They face a test to their win streak as they host the tough Saskatoon Sasquatch in their next.

2. Niagara Nightmare (5-1)
Previous: 1 High: 1 Low: 2
Crunch, crunch. Hear that? That’s sound of a big plate of crow. After saying the UG “sucked donkey” previously, the Nightmare got treated to a Tijuana donkey show and ended up on the wrong end of the score for the first time this season. But let’s be real, this team is still among the elite and a definite championship contender.

3. Kansas City Gorillas (5-1)
Previous: 3 High: 3 Low: 8
Held off a determined Bulls team looking to break a losing streak to take their 5th consecutive win. QB Tom Brady had an off night and the Gorillas had to lean heavily on their kicking game for the W.

4. Shilo Silly Nannies (5-1)
Previous: 4 High: 4 Low: 7
Welcomed the Demos to the league with a resounding stomping. The Nannies have one game left in their powder puff tour before tackling league elite Calgary and Niagara.

5. Unsavory Gentlemen (4-2)
Previous: 7 High: 5 Low: 10
Beating seemingly unbeatable Niagara gives the UG at least a temporary promotion in the ranks. Game planned solidly against the league powerhouse and pulled the upset. Word is that they’ll use this game as the next Rocky script. The Gentlemen have the opportunity to keep it rolling against Prince George who is making things difficult for all opponents lately.

6. Saskatoon Sasquatch (5-1)
Previous: 5 High: 5 Low: 11
Blew out the Northside Hangmen in a warm up to a big game against Calgary. The mood in the Sasquatch locker room is optimistic as they look to knock off the last unbeaten.

7. Saskatchewan Thrashers (4-2)
Previous: 6 High: 3 Low: 7
Came out ahead of the Prince George Warriors but had all sorts of trouble doing it. Their defense is beginning to fade to the middle of the pack.

8. Chilliwack Care Bears (3-3)
Previous: 8 High: 6 Low: 11
Dominated the Irukandji and the Care Bears look to be back on track. Defensive end The Penetrator turned in an all world performance with 4 sacks. Look for the Care Bears to sweep their next two and get themselves back in the playoff hunt.

9. Genosha X-Men (4-2)
Previous: 9 High: 5 Low: 9
Fought out a hard defensive contest with the Lockdowns. The X-Men need to show that they’re still among the league’s best and they’ll need a big time showing against the KC Gorillas to make that happen.

10. Kelowna Bulls (2-4)
Previous: 11 High: 3 Low: 11
The Bulls looked their their early season selves, staying close with KC. The Levdonsky brothers are all beginning to contribute again and when all three play well, the Bulls have an offense that will be tough to stop.

11. Toronto Lockdowns (2-4)
Previous: 10 High: 9 Low: 12
Hung with the X-Men is a defensive battle but that’s the Lockdowns problem – creating offense. The Lockdowns rank 20th in rushing and 29th in passing. They won’t win a lot of shootouts that way.

12. Manitoba Lions (2-4)
Previous: 12 High: 11 Low: 13
After two straight wins, they lose to the Destroyers but weren’t blown out. Make no mistake..the Lions are starting to ball.

13. Prince George Warriors (0-6)
Previous: 13 High: 13 Low: 15
They dropped to 0-6 but gave the Thrashers all types of problems in a close one. These guys are pushing hard for a W and aren’t afraid to play the big boys tough.

14. Alberta Irukandji (1-5)
Previous: 14 High: 11 Low: 15
Apparently, they’ve fired their head coach. They should fire their marketing guy…what the hell is a Irukandji anyways? Things aren’t looking up for them with a renewed Bulls team and KC on the horizon.

15. Fhockey.com Demos (Edmonton Beavers) (0-6)
Previous: 16 High: 14 Low: 16
First game in against Shilo? Sorry for your luck. It looks like their starting to re-tool a bit and have more or less written off this season. If they haven’t, they better get better than a lvl 2 starting free safety…yikes.

16. Northside Hangmen (0-6)
Previous: 16 High: 14 Low: 16
In their game against Saskatoon, the Hangmen defence tried to tackle runners by swinging their purses at their knees. Still didn’t work. Quite simply the worst defence in the league, which is a shame because their WR duo can put up sick numbers.

Since the question was posed as to what an Irukandji is.....

Don't count out our team just yet. If we can start to score our defense will keep games close.

Quoted from Wiki - "Very little is known about the life cycle and venom of Irukandji jellyfish. This is partly because it is very small and fragile."

Doesn't exactly conjure up a scary image but I must say they gave us one hell of a game.

They can be quite deadly in role playing games:

Another quote from wikipedia "Researchers conjecture that its venom possesses such potency to enable it to quickly stun its prey"
"Irukandji syndrome is produced by a very small amount of venom and includes severe pains at various parts of the body (typically excruciating muscle cramps in the arms and legs, severe pain in the back and kidneys, and a burning sensation of the skin and face), headaches, nausea, restlessness, sweating, vomiting, high heart rate and blood pressure."
