Alright guys, here is yet another update on the Alpha conference. Every team that plans to contend for the championship might want to check out the Zeta Report every week as well so you can get a feel for who will be in the playoffs for Zeta as well. Nats Kule does the Zeta Report, and it is worth a read every week by the way.

Here is what happened last week.

Cook Island Cobras vs. Oklahoma Bears 6-49
Buffalo Bugbears vs. Melbourne Dreadnoks 31-98
Majuro Marshalls vs. Adamstown Abusement Park 0-73
Papeete Pirate Pandas vs. Sacramento Gunslingers 21-51
Gold Coast Marauders vs. Dayton Buckeyes 30-0
Papua New Guinea Cannibals vs. Tonga Havoc 28-30
Palau Pride vs. Streator Storm 51-6
E.C. Express vs. Orlando Gators 75-0

The Elite 5:

Oklahoma Bears: Still rolling along with another win to make it six straight. 49-6 was the score against the Cobras. Their QB had another great game, and he also leads the league in passing yards, so secondaries, watch out. The Big Bad Bears will try to take on the Cannibals next, so that will be a great game. Still waiting for the Bears to make a mistake, but so far, they have been perfect.

Melbourne Dreadnoks: Big win over the Bugbears, but it was expected. Another easy game is next against the Pirate Pandas. They will be 6-1 after this week without a doubt. They are chasing the Bears and are hoping that they slip up so the Dreadnoks can claim the top spot. As it looks right now, they are close, very close.

Tonga Havoc: Havoc fans might be angry that they arent ranked above the Dreadnoks, after all, they did beat Melbourne, but the truth of the matter is that it is hard to rank these elite teams, because any one of them could jump on top any given day. The Havoc were in the game of the week last week, and it sure was the game of the week. They managed to kick a 49 yard field goal with 3 seconds left to win it 30-28. The Cannibals couldnt stop the Havoc, and in the end lost to a very powerful team. Now the Havoc face another challenge, the E.C. Express. The Express were the underdog last year but ended up upsetting the Havoc 17-14, so the Havoc are looking for revenge.

Palau Pride: A big win over the Storm, and the Pride are still rolling. They have one more easy game, and then all hell breaks loose for the Pride as they have 4 straight weeks of Elite teams. Watch out however, because the Pride arent going to back down!

E.C. Express: With another big win against the Orlando Gators, they set 11 franchise records in 1 game! 75-0 was the margin of victory, and the Express keep pounding on the points. The Elite just took on another team, and E.C. think they deserve it. But now they will have to take on the Havoc, another outstanding team. A lot of team have a hard time stopping the Express triple threat ground attack, so lets see how they do against the Havoc.

Contenders:

Gold Coast Marauders: They are 5-1, and the only reason that they arent an Elite team, is because they have only faced one really tough opponent yet, and they lost. Another big win however, keeps them rolling. They definitely belong as a contender, but until they prove themselves, they wont be considered an Elite.

Papua New Guinea Cannibals: After a disappointing loss against the Havoc, they fall to 4-2. The Cannibals will look for revenge next time they play. This was probably the most exciting game yet this whole season. Next up are the high rolling Bears. A clear cut candidate for the game of the week, so lets see how the Cannibals rebound after a great game.

Muddle Middle:

Cook Island Cobras: A big loss against the Bears, they are now 3-3, until they start winning, they dont go any higher than this, but they sure dont belong any lower either.

Adamstown Abusement Park: If SAM I AM keeps playing like this then he can talk all the crap that he wants. 329 yards rushing on 25 carries. 73-0 over the Marshals, although, that isnt saying much.

Sacramento Gunslingers: Well, after 2 straight wins, they are showing that they truly can play football. After the most harsh opening 4 games in the whole league, they are starting to show us some life.

Dayton Buckeyes: They are not the same team as last year. 2-4 is not very competitive. They are just a step over the Bottom Feeder.

Bottom Feeders:

Papeete Pirate Pandas: Well, they should be getting used to loosing now, right?

Streator Storm: They are only practice for almost every other team in the league.

Buffalo Bugbears: At least they have one win.

Lost Causes:

Majuro Marshalls: What's new?

Orlando Gators: No comment.

Matchup of the Week:

E.C. Express-Tonga Havoc

Both teams are having very strong seasons so far, but only one of them can reign victorious. Tonga Barely got out alive against the Cannibals, and the Express pounded the Gators 75-0. Who will win? Well, both teams feel confident that they will end up victorious, but we wont know for sure until they settle it out on the field. This is sort of a grudge match so to speak. Last year the underdogs Express upset the Havoc 17-14, and the Havoc have wanted revenge ever since then. Well, it is time to see, who is the better team. Will Tonga cause Havoc upon the Express, or will E.C. roll right over their opponent? Lets find out, on the matchup of the week!

Mr. Deeds, thank you so much for posting these reports. They are always informative and entertaining.

Can the Maruaders get some love?

Yeah, probably a bad time to ask this the week before we go up against the dreaded Dreadnoks and we still have to play the Pride, Cannibals, and Havoc, but we have sweated out a couple of tough games.

I might be a little tough on you guys, and I dont think anyone should take you lightly, but if you can beat any of those teams than you proved where you belong.
