1. Edinburgh Black Knights (4-0) (Last: 1 Best: 1)
As Veg might say, “Yawn. Knights roll.” Glasgow is looming but Bonn Jovi proved they are not to be overlooked.
2. Glasgow Tigers (4-0) (Last: 2 Best: 2)
Outgained Oakton 543.5-170 en route to a big win. Should have no trouble with Frankfurt before the big showdown with the other Scottish team.
3. Bonn Jovi (3-1) (Last: 5 Best: 3)
Another big win, and the Jovi are #3. They’re officially on Edinburgh’s radar, and they’re wanted dead or alive. Sorry, I wish I could stop that, but at this point it’s like a social disease or something.
4. Icelandic Vikings (3-1) (Last: 8 Best: 4)
The other “upset” of the week, if you go solely by ranking. The Vikings get a breather against Las Vegas and Jamaica before they take on Schiffertown.
5. Middlesbrough Mayhem (3-1) (Last: 7 Best: 5)
Finally a decisive game. Jamaica should be more of the same, and then another tough stretch that could yield some more close scores.
6. Milan Cock Fighters (3-1) (Last: 10 Best: 6)
Really took it to Schiffertown with a great gameplan. They look like they’re built to run, but really aired it out for the win.
7. Frankfurt Universe (3-1) (Last: 6 Best: 6)
The Universe is not big enough to contain the awesomeness of Bonn Jovi. It doesn’t get easier, either. They’re hitting the meat of their schedule, and Glasgow is next.
8. Trillville Hoods (2-2) (Last: 3 Best: 3)
Still can’t stop the bleeding in the secondary. Every week they give up more passing yards than the last. They have the talent, but can they make the adjustments to keep them competitive?
9. Schiffertown Griffins (2-2) (Last: 4 Best: 2)
Big time upset, and they were on the losing end. The Griffins continue to stockpile talent, but at the expense of their chemistry. They could be a force late in the season though.
10. Oakton Huskies (2-2) (Last: 9 Best: 3)
They’re really going to have to find a couple of cornerbacks if they want to stay in playoff contention.
11. Tilburg Power (2-2) (Last: 11 Best: 9)
Win as expected. Hopefully they’ve used their last two weeks to plan for the Griffins, because they need a high-profile win in a bad way.
12. Belfast Shamrocks (1-3) (Last: 13 Best: 12)
Sweet glory! A win over South Beach! The bottom of this conference really has the talent to mix it up with the rest of the gang, but it remains to be seen how much that actually happens.
13. Chaos Engine (0-4) (Last: 12 Best: 11)
Their one-dimensional offense is really killing them. In four games they have not beaten their opponent once in time of possession. Much less on the scoreboard.
14. South Beach Sharks (0-4) (Last: 14 Best: 13)
Had the win within their grasp, then blew it in the fourth. Chaos next week offers some redemption.
15. Jamaica Rumrunners (0-4) (Last: 15 Best: 15)
The Rumrunners have really had a brutal schedule to start the season. They’ll have more of a chance to make some noise in the second half.
16. Las Vegas Lunatics (0-4) (Last: 16 Best: 16)
There are no quick fixes for the disaster they were left with. It won’t be until next season before they can really be competitive. Still, they’ve made a lot of progress.
