Week 2 - Eastern Europe AA#4 Power Rankings

Ok sports fans, it's time to re-kindle the love affair of all things numbers and rankings.

As we all know, Mr. Moontayle did the rankings for EEAA4 for the past few seasons. However, it seemed he got very busy towards the end of last season, and so has kindly forwarded me his power ranking formula.

I probably won't have time to do this all season, but I will do it when I can.

Moontayles disclaimer:
None of these rankings are done by 'feel' or 'intuition'. I use straight up math and when Excel is done sorting them, that's how I rank them. It's as fair as I can mathematically make it. If you have any questions or comments feel free to mail me.

So, without further adieu, here are your week 2, un-official, power rankings..

Power Rankings:

1) Nissa Dauphins (2-0) Last Week (LW) -
Nissa is starting out strong this season, with 2 wins against Chernobyl and Warsaw. The question remains though, can this team perform over the course of the season? Playing a good team in Warsaw, and a the Local JV HS team, to start off the season isn't really showing much. With one of the toughest stretches ever in AA4 facing them, their season will hang in what they can do in their next 7 games against perennial playoff teams. Are they for real? We'll know in 15 days.
Last Game vs. Nuclear Fallout, 102-6 W
Next Game vs. Krakow Cows

2) Krakow Cows (2-0) LW -
The cows are looking like the team to beat this season. With the off season acquisitions of Kenton Addai, Raheem Johnson and a new water boy, they have definitely positioned themselves as the top dog. Can this team be stopped? Is it their destiny to finally get over the hump and get to the championships game? Again, only time will tell, but smart money picks the Cows to go all the way this year.
Last Game vs. Athens Aggies, 34-7 W
Next Game vs. Nissa Dauphins

3) Leicester Lynxes (2-0) LW -
Just behind the cows is another team making some serious noise early this season. The Lynxes have come out and had convincing wins in their first 2 games. However, as with Nissa, they will start a very long stretch of tough games, and based off of their past season, one has to wonder what they will do.
Last Game vs. London Dolphins, 35-21 W
Next Game vs. Athens Aggies

4) The Look (2-0) LW -
The first lol@Zeta team to make it in the top 10 is The Look. Much like Nissa, The Look is off to a great start, getting a easy win in week 1 against Piotreks and a convincing win in week 2 against Sydney. However, much like our friends in Alpha, Zeta has to wonder if The Look can sustain this pace over the next 14 games.
Last Game vs. Sydney Tire Irons, 30-16 W
Next Game vs. Carluke Cobras

5) London Head Hunters (2-0) LW -
The odds on favorite to win the Zeta conference, LHH has come out this season thoroughly dominating
their first 2 opponents. No question that LHH is the class of Zeta, but with teams like Hat Creek and St. Pete in conference, they have to be looking over their shoulder a little
Last Game vs. Subotica, 35-10 W
Next Game at Orange Blood

6) C-Town Hoodlums (2-0) LW -
Making their appearance in the top 10, C-Town has come out and squeaked 2 wins against Haguenau and Chernobyl. They get one more easy game before they start on a tough stretch of schedule pitting them against St. Pete in week 7 and finishing the season against Hat Creek, Longreach, London and a tough out of conference game against International. They have their work cut out for them.
Last Game vs. Chernobyl, 16-10 W
Next Game vs. Piotreks

7) International Players (2-0) LW -
Perhaps not a surprise to the Alpha teams, International makes their first appearance in the top 10 as well. Getting 2 convincing wins against Sparta and Tallaght, they look poised to make a serious run at the playoffs this season. However, they do sport a relatively easy schedule until week 9, where they start on a stretch of games vs, perennial playoff teams. They have a tough road, but shouldn't surprise anyone when they make the playoffs.
Last Game vs. Tallaght, 24-6 W
Next Game vs. Charleston

8) Hat Creek Cattle Company (2-0) LW -
A playoff team from one season ago, Hat Creek looks poised to make a serious run at the Zeta title. They are playing some good ball right now, scoring a combined 95 points in their first 2 games. With a schedule that favors them, they should have no problem getting through the regular season.
Last Game vs. Translyania, 51-17 W
Next Game at Sydney

9) Longreach Wildcats (2-0) LW -
A bit of an unknown, Longreach has come out of the gates this season, handling business at Subotica and at home against Orange Blood. A middle of the pac team last season, they are looking to establish themselves as a team that "Will not be a joke this season." I like. Look for good things from Longreach.
Last Game vs. Orange Blood, 44-14 W
Next Game at Transylvania

10) St. Petersburg Storm (2-0) LW -
Rounding out our top 10 is the St. Pete Storm. Arguably, the best defensive team in Zeta last season. This season St. Pete will be looking to score more and convince us all that they belong in that championship game. They will be one of the 3 teams to vie for that Zeta title, with Hat Creek and LHH.
Last Game vs. Haguenau, 42-3 W
Next Game vs. Chernobyl

Waiting in the wings...
11) Moscow Vandals
12) Fehervar Enthroners
13) Tallaght Outlaws
14) Chernobyl Radionuclides
15) Lowell Bengal Tigers
16) Warsaw Cossacks
17) Carluke Cobras
18) Sydney Tire Irons
19) Moscow Bears
20) Athens Aggies

Got some work to do...
21) Florida Buccaneers
22) Volgograd Berserks
23) Subotica Scorpions
24) Prague Panthers
25) Transylvania Bats

Need to really get working...
26) Charleston Roadwarriors
27) Haquenau Coyotes
28) Sparta Spartans
29) Piotreks Fantasy
30) Orange Blood Nation
31) London Dolphins
32) Chernobyl Meltdowns

Well, that's it for this week. So far, some surprises out of the gate. I suspect this season is going to be a battle for playoff spots, in both conferences.

@ lolzeta - I'll apologize in advanced for not saying more about your teams. Honestly, i just really don't have a handle on the zeta conference. Looks to be very competitive, however.

Apparently, bold, italics and underline doesn't translate from office org to here, so if anyone knows how to do those things, shoot me a pm.

Thanks

[ b ] and [ /b ] = bold
[ i ] and [ /i ] = italic
[ u ] and [ /u ] = underline

No spaces in the codes though, i only put them there so it would show up for you.

you can use them together too.

Much appreciated on the praise for Longreach. Though you can admit it, Longreach was a joke last season. 2-14, we barely survived demotion.
