Well since people are already clamoring for week 2 predictions I thought I would give everyone what they want by posting my take on possible week 2 results. Sorry Alpha but I just don't know your conference well enough to even try and predict the games.
As for the power rankings I have been kind of busy lately so I will be trying to do them after every even numbered week (week 2, week 4, etc..) so expect them to be back after tomorrow's games.
Onto my predictions:
Brown Bay Packers vs Crete Minotaurs
Prediction: 31 - 7
Winner: Brown Bay Packers
The Packers are the favorite in this one and should handle their business by beating the Minotaurs. Brown Bay's offense will most likely control the game throughout.
Belgrade Bears vs UN Determined
Prediction: 48 - 0
Winner: Belgrade Bears
The Bears are a heavy favorite here after dispatching a quality Barcelona team in week 1. UN will have a hard time dealing with the overall quality found on Belgrades roster.
Hungary Hungry Hippos vs Barcelona Chupacabras
Prediction: 28 - 7
Winner: Hungary Hungry Hippos
This is an interesting matchup involving two solid teams. The Hippos continue trying to navigate through their difficult early season schedule and draw a Barcelona squad coming off a disappointing loss to Belgrade. The Chupacabras will have their hands full in trying to pull off this upset.
Boston Piggers vs Athens Gods
Prediction: 24- 21
Winner: Boston Piggers
This one looks to be a virtual tossup. Both teams matchup well with each other so I expect this to be very close. I think that the Piggers will rebound from their first loss and finally get the passing game going.
Macedonian Phalanx vs Moscow Maniacs
Prediction: 38 - 14
Winner: Macedonian Phalanx
The Maniacs lost a heartbreaker in week 1, losing by 1 point to UN. The Phalanx put up a decent fight against the Packers but didn't have enough to ever truly threaten them. Macedonian should register their first win against the a Maniacs team that appears to be overmatched.
Bergen Storm vs New Orleans Jazz
Prediction: 38 - 0
Winner: Bergen Storm
The Storm should easily beat this all CPU team. Not really much to look at in this game actually. The Storm will roll to their first W.
Sofia Falcons vs Odessa Pipers
Prediction: 24 - 17
Winner: Sofia Falcons
The Falcons were defeated by the Hippos last week while the Pipers lost to Athens. This should be a relativly good matchup with two competitive teams.
GAME OF THE WEEK
Spanish Inquisition vs River City Ransom
Prediction: 28 - 21
Winner: Spanish Inquisition
The game of the week feature two strong teams coming off of early wins. Both have a balanced roster with good overall quality. The Inquisition had a very impressive performance against Boston in their first game while River City beat the Storm by twenty in game one. This one projects to be a close one throughout but I like the Inquisition to hold off the Ransom.
