Why are the K's / P's being excluded? Are they not part of the team?

they would skew the results. Most of the game does not involve them, so a very difference between a level 18 P/K and a level 7 is relatively useless unless it's a very close game.

I would disagree to an extent. It depends on the quality of that P/K's offense or defense. If a team's defense is significantly better than a team's offense, then they can make a difference.

That's completely useless though. If you don't have good backups you're going to lose.

If I had a team with all level 15 starters AND backups I would kill your team if you had all 16 level starters and level 10 backups. Starting player averages don't mean much.
