That sucks for the players. I bet they don't even know.

The same thing happened to my previous team. The owner just said he was leaving one day and the team was sold a couple days later. I think I am in a better situation now, and I am sure that for many players this will be for the better.

If you look at the roster, I'm willing to bet the owner couldn't stand the recruitment process.

Trying to recruit a full roster that can win is just ridiculous the player market just plain sucks.

No kidding. I'm the DC for a team in WE AA. New owner and management took over with 6 games remaining. Team talent sucked. Finances screwed. Everyone on the team wanted out. We started turning things around but ended up 0-16. That on top of the existing market conditions have made it near impossible to lure FAs. So far, I'm short 2 CBs, 1 DE, 1 DT and a FS. I started recruiting with 2 weeks remaining last season. Oh well. Just gotta keep sawing wood.

The only people I didn't re-sign were positions in which I knew I had a solid upgrade committed 100% (friends mostly). The only exceptions to that were FS and backup MLB, where the guys we picked up actually responded to a team looking for players post. I intend to re-sign about everyone on our squad to long term deals shortly. I consider myself pretty decent at recruiting, too. It's just there's so damned many teams out there and it's only going yo get worse. One option is a grouping system that would split the league up in ways where only certain players can interact with certain teams, but there would be ridiculous outrage to something like that.

Yeah too many teams! Its impossible to recruit for expansion teams. At least to get level 9-13s with decent builds.
