Apparently Nicola had another QB and kept the one she wanted.
Maybe she thought Nikky Fox was tainted and ruined after Rick Blaine had his way with her. Rick Blaine actually shed a tear when he heard Fox was gone. Then he went out and grabbed 4 of his groupies and holed himself up in his cabin with them for a weekend.
