Conflict.

Conflict is interesting. Conflict inspires emotion (good and bad). Conflict puts asses in the seats. Dennis Rodman sells more tickets than Tim Duncan.

We are perfectly willing to play the roles of the villains. We do so because we don't need you, we don't need your friendship, we don't need your respect, and we don't need your players.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Conflict does not sell anything except body body bags. Conflict does not make a good story it makes a horrible story.

What sells tickets is drama. Whatever that drama might be centered around. A good story is one that ends with something positive. Unless of course you happen to be a person filled with hatred.

I don't hate either one of you. What I hate is the way you treat people.

What you hate is how we treat you and the other simpletons.

Conflict does not always have to be physical. It can be verbal as well. Something you seem to get stuck in, but never victorious at.

I'm not trying to be victorious. but it's clear who's losing.

Just wondering if they boosted at all before the game.

I think they did, I checked before the playoffs and they had some starters under 20 (18,19 if i remember correctly). Our game prep, their starters were all over 20 (21+)

The reason we almost lost in the semis was because the Lions had probably the best matched up defense against our offense. Both games they were able to contain our run game mostly and made us pass and caused turn \overs. Not many defenses were able to do that against us this year.

Gunners, great game to you guys.

I am looking foward to a tough game against Suva.

I typically approach the forums as a read-only scenario but I felt compelled to point out that this is a terribly simple opinion of the storytelling tradition or any other narrative medium... To suggest that only stories that have happy endings are good is just plain silly... Life doesn't always have happy endings... Does this make it any less compelling? If conflict didn't cause people to tune in, reality television wouldn't be half as popular as it unfortunately is... This is why movies like Forest Gump will always win at the AA... Because we are simple people that want things wrapped up nice & tidy in linear, happy packages...

Oh & GL Fiji...

Amen. If life didn't have drama, conflict, problems...

I'd kill myself. Boring, happy, pleasant existence is merely that. Existence. I want to LIVE, not exist.

Thanks everybody. If the question about boosting was being asked of us for this game or the playoffs then no we did not. We had used the last of our boosts during the mid part of the regular season. Good luck Suva going to be tough for us to beat you guys but we will give it a go . The Lions defense had worried us going into that game and they did what we were afraid of they took the ball from us five times. We were very lucky to overcome that.

I understand where you are coming from. I guess it would depend on your perspective and the type of story. Sure a good fiction story that's filled with conflict, drama etc.. Is great. I mean Red Storm Rising is one of my favorite books of all time. That's a pretty violent but "good" story.

When I say good story I was talking more of what the media (news broadcast's, print etc..) sells us. Stories about conflict are not good. A story about someone being rescued from certain death. That's a good story.

I hope I've been able to clarify my view of what's a good story.

Edit: A pleasant existence is not always boring. Ever jumped out of a plane or been rafting down the Colorado river? That's far from boring.
