Wow, this thread was very enlightening. I had a player on RTJ's Oceania team, and I will admit it was kind of a shock to wake up and find out I had been released. I thought little about it and moved on, finding a nice new home for my guy in USA pro.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine from another forum sent me a PM asking if I might be interested in bringing my WR to an Africa Pro team. I respect this friend, and after he told me about the squad I signed my wr and a backup DE.

After I signed and started to peruse the team forum I saw that RTJ was there. I asked him why he left the Oceania squad, and he explained to me the same thing that was posted here.

I am not really sure what my point is, other than to say that the people claiming collusion or gutting because all the good players brought in were part of a giant conspiracy are off base. If RTJ wanted to stop being an owner that is his prerogative. Where he takes his players is really none of anyones business.

It's getting late and I am hammered, so I hope some of this made sense.

So if RTJ sold his team back then moved his players to all different teams you would be OK with that?

I like how the word collusion is thrown about.

Most people here aren't using it anywhere near correctly.

Hurricane, if an owner worked to better a team, then sold the team back and the new owner decided to trade those players or even release those players, I'd see no problem with that. When it is done before the new ownership, the new owner isn't getting a team, they are getting a shell.

Majech do you like the players on Botswana? Are some of them now becoming friends of yours?

If so you would understand why this happens.

I am glad you asked this question, Laggo. All but maybe 3 people on the team all know each other in real life and most have been friends for as long as we can remember AND playing fantasy football for at least 12 years together. That being said, if majech sold the team we would not throw a fit and kick and scream and "demand" to be released and whatever the hell else happens when this crap goes on.

In fact, a couple of the guys were on other human teams and asked their owner what would need to happen for them to be able to be traded to our team. The answer was "find a comparable replacement", so majech would find a player that was comparable to the player he was going to trade for and if the owner agreed, that player was traded. If the owner would have said, "well, this player is very important to this team, i just cant let him go" that player would have ridden out their contracts and then signed with us, which is also what happened with a few more players.

See, thats how a simulation, is suppose to work, hence the definition: the imitation of some real thing, state of affairs, or process. And in a RPG you are playing that role, I guess this is the difference between "video gamers" and "sports fans". Sports fans expect things run by the rules and in the spirit of the game, gamers want to figure out how to cheat the game, the "easter eggs" and the loopholes in the game.

This is a simulation, but it's also a video game. Video games are inherently supposed to be fun. The easiest way to ensure you continue to have fun - and ensure your friends are able to continue to have fun is to release them when you sell the team so they can find an owner who will not ruin that fun.

If they want to return to the old team they have every ability to do so.

Laggoa, i like all the guys on the Bugeaters, except for maybe the Tramiken fellow. He changes from an OU avatar to a TO(Tom Osborne) avatar cnfsng th hll out of me.

That being said he did put up a really good post about our team. We are a bunch of football guys and do see this as more if a sim.
