We haven't been here long enough to develop natural rivalries with any of you guys yet but we'll see if that can change in the playoffs. I'm guaranteed a rematch with at least one of you.
I guess if I had to pick one now it would have to be the Rochester Vendetta. They're the 1st place team in the Western Conference BBB league we came out of, and likely will be here next season unless someone knocks them off.
The thing about them is that we were all brand new teams in a brand new league so nobody had any real idea how competitive it would be. I knew right off the bat I had a solid squad and could hang with any of them. The problem was that my previous GM duties were mainly with personnel so I had to figure out tactics on the fly. We got over confident against the Vendetta and they wound up stealing the game and giving us our only loss all season 0-3.
I could live with that because I never claimed to have the best team, but their owner just couldn't let it go. They had to bring that game up in every conversation and rub it in until the insults were too much. We got angry and started becoming very aggressive both in our game planning and on the boards, to the point where they were looking at us in their rear view mirror and not spending enough time on their next game. They let their guard down and it cost em, allowing us to regain our #1 seed and bulldoze our way to the title. Unfortunately they choked down the stretch and were knocked out of the playoffs early so we never got a rematch....something tells me the outcome would be much different, and it looks like I may get my chance soon.
