Western Conference Elite Eight (1-4)
1) MooseJaw Jackalopes (4-0): Armed with the #1 ranked passing O and Rush O, the Jackalopes aint too shabby on D either (#2 ranked D). MVP Candidates Peyt0n Manning and star rusher Nikolai Rostov get all the headlines, but back up RB Biakabutuka , WR Gee Gee Ginger, & TE Trevor Touchdown allow this Offense to achieve its exceptional results. This team will continue to roll with its stellar D. Prince Myshkin and LaRoi James applies the pressure while Mo and Chazno patrol the secondary.
2) Prince George Kings (4-0): The Kings will get to prove whether they deserve this spot over SD and Grim when they face the tough Winnipeg Falcons (#2 ranked in Pass O & D). No slouches when it comes to a passing game (#3 pass O in the West),Billy Shotgun Messiah will look to get Ted Ginn Jr involved early, as well as his 3-Headed Monster at RB. This game hinges on Prince George ‘s #3 D keeping the Winnipeg passing game in check.
3) San Diego Rockstars (4-0): An effective passing attack headed by Jim Daniels and a hawking Pass D (#1 ranking) has grabbed 10 picks so far this year. Their intimidating Defense is ranked #1 in the conference. But the true power of the Rockstars comes from their Violent Ground Game. Collins, Moe, Hays , & Mori can make any Defense cringe.
4) Grim Afterlife (4-0): Like all true great teams, Grim can run the ball (#2) and stop you from running the ball(#1). Playing big roles on D are Patrick Williz, Platinum Lewis, and Breizh Punisher III. Dee Geezy and Willis Gore will handle the bulk of the offensive workload, and a couple of accurate QB’s with their main target Jelly Beans keeping D’s honest thru the air.
5) North Pole Yetis (3-1): The Yetis have a powerful offensive machine with Youichi guiding it and “The Tank” and Automille driving it (#4 Passing/#5 Rushing with 17 scores). Their D stops the run (#5, 7 FR), gets to the QB (7 sacks), but struggles against the pass a little (11th ranked Pass D). They have a big advantage with an easier schedule over the next 3 weeks, 2 wins combined over the next 3 teams.
6) Winnipeg Falcons (3-1): Talking about schedules, how about one loss among their next 3 opponents. Ouch. Winnipeg will face Prince George, Grim, and Northern before their Eastern Conference matchup. A great passing game plan with the dangerous Malouf to Crabbush combination (#2 O) & a dangerous Defense(#2 Pass D)delivering 7 TO and 2 scores, has led them to this 3-1 start. But an improving Run D (#9) is what will get them to the upper echelon, or keep them from reaching it.
7) Northern Lights (3-1): Ahh, The Northern Lights, how bright you shine. Two 0-4 teams left on the schedule, but two top 8 teams will prove how high they seed in the playoffs. Tyrodd Tyler leads a good run offense (#6), but for this team to take the next step, Daryl Hall and his receivers need to improve their #13 Pass O (1 TD, 4 Ints). The Defense has also been a force (#3 Pass D/#5 Overall).
8) Alberta Vampires (2-2): The Vampires are in a league all their own (the only 2-2 team in the conference). Alberta has been a disappointing team this year with their offensive stars, Napolean, Janero, and Knight, underperforming (#10 ranked O). The defense has been middle of the road (#8) but has caused 11 TO (6 int/5 FR) and their Pass D (#5) has kept teams one dimensional.
