Forum > Goal Line Blitz > Why Is the Depth Chart Slow as Hell?

Just another of my occasional "Why isn't this revenue generating site operating like a revenue generating site" question. Why when you decide to move Barry Sanders to the 1st position on the RB depth chart (and by default move Thurman Thomas to the 2nd position) why does the site need SEVERAL HOURS to change the team's depth chart? What kind of lazy-ass programming includes a 6-hour delay on things that should be automatic?

I'm talking about the public-facing page for the team. Sometimes its easier to just ask "What does the offense look like?" and click on the profile to make sure any changes "took". Why does it take HOURS for the public page to change?

Well... Approximately 150 years ago, before depth charts had custom slots, the entire Offense Ai was essentially the current Casual Ai (except there were no default offenses) and it was a little bit of a tactical advantage.

Like on game day, you could change your offense from 75% outside running (for example) to 75% inside running and switch from an "elusive HB" (which used to be really good) to a "power HB" (even though archetypes weren't invented yet), and it wouldn't show up on the team page for a few hours, so opposing defenses wouldn't automatically know to adjust their settings.

In the modern era, it's probably not super important either way, because of multiple preset custom depth charts, full Ai functionality, and the tactics calendar.

I suspect it wouldn't be that hard to adjust the code so that the Update button in the depth chart also updates the public facing depth chart, but it's probably something that no one has asked about before.

Not sure if I'm understanding everything you're saying but, are you hitting the Apply or Save Depth Chart?

Does this apply to AI Calendar tactics ? Ive had a couple of late changes that didnt 'stick" but a random Casual gig took the place of the original saved AI.

Nah, I'm just talking about the team's public-facing page. IF you decide to move RT A up to position 1 on the right tackle depth chart, and click submit, why wouldn't the public-facing page immediately update to reflect that RT A is now number 1 at the right tackle position? It just seems like lazy coding (or non-coding).

Speaking of depth chart, CPU teams are broken with only 37 players on the roster. No refreshing. Only 3 WRs, 3 CBs, etc.
