Rolled for 15 dots and only 1 of them ended up spending more BTs than it would've cost to build, it was an OL dot and just never saw a +5% Hold Block, but it was only 20 BT in the end that it cost me vs buying at full price.

All 14 others had minor-to-significant BT gains by shopping. A couple of the dots gained enough BT capital to do two more full cycles of multi-trains on the primary attributes. A couple only gained 10-20 BTs (CBs - which are by far the hardest to roll for imo).

11 of those dots were 4 AEQ where I shopped for the first 3, and then purchased the 4th piece at full cost.

That has been my experience as well, 41 *seems* like the new sweet spot for those blank / 5%. It takes a lot of rolls to not get some profit from finding one.

75 BT - 19 to buy = 56 saved tokens minus the cost of the rolls. At 3 a piece, you'd have to burn up *19* rolls to go into the negatives vs outright buying the gear, and I don't think I've ever had a dot with luck THAT bad.

fwiw I always build my first piece (+3 att / +5%) as soon as possible and level up as I approach lvl 41, then shop - got super lucky this morning and got +5% blank piece (lvl 41, first roll)

Rolled at lvl41 for my stC this AM:

Goals: 3AEQ with 2 of them either +3 SPD or +3 STR and both 5% Hold Block and for the third +3 SPD/STR and either First Step (XSA) or Run Block or Get Low SA

Results: rolled a naked FS followed by a naked 5% HB and on AEQ store roll #17 got the second naked 5% HB....enhanced all 3 with +3 SPD and did one conversion as two of the purchases were "Hands".....Total Cost 17 rolls and 275 Bonus Tokens.

I always keep track of this Total Cost number by archetype in my notes so I have some idea of potential costs when I build future generations of the same archetype and so I also can estimate final build when comparing to previous players.

I wasn't saying it never makes sense to get a third piece, i was just saying that for the third piece, the +5% vs +2% means a lot less, as i said.

3 5% pieces

15% + 7.5% + 3.75% = 26.25%

2 5% pieces plus CE, same as 2 5% pieces + 2% piece

15% + 7.5% + 3% = 25.5%

the difference here is that with the first option you can have AE with +6 in an SA, the second it becomes CE with only +4 in the SA

so if purchasing AE or building it, you really want to be maxed out on the benefit if playing at the highest levels where games can be a coin flip
