So why can't I sign a day 160 player who is entering Plateau to my Casual Pro team??

I see no reason as to why I would have to wait until they are 161 days old which would be day 1 of next season.

You can sign them tomorrow, don't have to wait until d1 next season

also what doesn't make sense is:

I built a bunch of guys yesterday, immediately signed all to D League so I could train them ASAP, before having to start the ST adjustments I'll need to make for the teams I ST for. So a few were on teams that were bought later yesterday by whom I was not sure. So I did the self cut on those guys. Come to find out many were on farm teams I'm actually going to be on. The kicker is now that they were cut, they have to wait 20 days to resign with that same team.

Going to have to do the sign with somebody else and then trade rigamarole....

D League teams can't be bought, you must've signed some to CPU owned actual teams by mistake, but yeah, I get what you're saying, all the old rules seem pretty useless now that there are far too few dots, not too many the way it was way back in the day.

You're right Slug....they were cpu teams...lesson learned.....

This might be a flaw to building on d40 because dots created today can train without being a part of a team
