Pickup game or not, this has been going on far too long. If I had to guess, this has probably been suggested before a few times. In this replay, the offense has a timeout left with 17 seconds left to go before the half. They're at the opposite 31 yard line. Instead of hurrying to spike the ball to save the timeout or just calling a timeout already, they just let the quarter expire. There is PLENTY of time to do something. They very well could have called a timeout, spiked the ball and possibly even ran another play afterwards, and/or attempted a field goal. And what's worse is that this is Veteran and Legend level so they have a much higher chance of attempting a field goal of that distance and possibly making it than a Rookie. But whether it's Rookie, Vet, Legend, whatever, they should always make full use of the opportunity. I've just seen situations like this happen so many times over the years and it's frustrating to see because there's absolutely nooooo wayyyy a wasted opportunity like that would've happened in the real world. And not just the real world, even in a video game. I've even seen video games have better logic than that. So if a video game has the wherewithal to make use of a opportunity like that, I'm sure a simulation game like GLB can do the same thing.
