There are probably a couple of suggestions here as my thoughts meander.
It's refreshing to see so many new teams and franchises this season, but tainted by the disillusionment of running a team, especially at rookie level where new faces start-up and get demoralised by the continual pummelling by experienced coaches (with some outright quitting).
There's no quick fix to that. GLB2 is a deep, yet enriching, game. But there's no reason to make the game so daunting to new owners.
An idea as a stepping stone to ownership would be to introduce a tooltip or some sort when a coach/agent first buys a team, much like when someone makes their first player or pickup player.
New owners may not even be aware that they can do more than just use default tactics and playbooks from the drop-down menu. There's no direct link to bring the owner to the tactic/playbook page... you have to navigate to Home > My Strategies. If it's problematic to apply a button, then maybe implement a splash screen to welcome the new owner and direct them to it.
A tooltip pointing to where owners can customise the look, and even change the team name may not be amiss.
The Help/FAQ button just brings the owner to a Forum, which may have nuggets of information... or not (as is often the case).
Instead, make that Help/FAQ button a reach out for an experienced coach for some personal guide. I don't think I would have been interested in carrying on with GLB2 after the early setbacks had it not been for Raid's early input, Ghanima's dot-building ideas and Adderfist's willingness to answer questions. All 3 will always be permanent members of my QPR, I'm that appreciative of their input.
Yes, Discord is great and all that. But sometimes a 1-1 chat via GLB2 or whatever, may help a struggling new coach find their feet.
tl;dr
1. Introduce a tooltip for new team owners with a welcome screen and where to find tactics or how to customise your team
2. Make the Help/FAQ button a way for a struggling coach to find a willing veteran coach to mentor, especially in the early days of running a team
