What up everyone. Let's put up a bit of content for the new league.
Alpha Division
*Georgia Bulldogs* owned by Dawgfan01
At the time of this posting The Bulldogs have a full offensive roster but the whole defense is still CPU. I'm unsure if this is by design or they're merely still getting their defensive side prepped.
Dawgfan is not a coach I'm too familiar with but he's gotten himself 8 rings to his name, and 2 as an Owner.
The team is unboosted as of right now and is not going with the standard Rookie meta of Adept/Natural/Early Bloomer so presumably this is meant to be a team with more than a one season lifetime.
With their selection of traits, lack of defense, lack of boosting, and no star power I do not predict the Bulldogs to make it to the playoffs at this time.
*Nashville Fighters* owned by Rxmxoatl
At the time of this posting the Fighters has only one player on the squad, an unboosted QB.
Rxmxoatl himself is by all appearances a basically brand new coach and this team might simply be a learning exercise for building QBs.
With limited coaching experience and only a single player to the team there isn't much to say about Nashville currently excepting that I don't expect to see them in the playoffs.
*Vegas Vipers* owned by CoachTaylor
CoachTaylor seems to be the new account of a more experienced coach when it comes to rookie. Despite at the time of this post only around half the team being comprised of real players, the positions they are in are the ones you need for a Rookie run. In addition, the high salaries and the trait selection is more in line with what one might expect of someone trying to make a run for a Rookie Ring.
However, the team does not use Adept and instead has opted for Scholar, a much less useful trait for Rookie. This leads me to believe the coach is experienced but not someone accustomed to winning in Rookie.
I expect the Vegas Vipers to win the Alpha Division with some ease and make it to the playoffs but to make a quick exit against either an opponent from Beta or Gamma.
----------
Beta Division
* Irish Pipebomers* owned by Prairie of Llamas
Prairie of Llamas appears to be a brand new coach and their team had only a few dots to their name. They have a Superstar DT, but that's where their star power ends.
Things could change over the next day or two but as of right now I do not predict the Pipebomers to make it to the playoffs.
*Pittsburgh Vipers* owned by HIGHerGROWTH
The Vipers are owned by HIGHerGROWTH who is a coach with 2 Rings to his name and he seems to have assembled a respectable ground attack to his team already. However, that is where the accolades for him presently end. The rest of the team is fully CPU.
HIGHerGROWTH may have had the coaching experience to give him an edge to take this division normally but with the next team in the list I do not expect the Vipers to make the Playoffs.
*D'Haran Empire* owned by HayRow
With a combined 209 Rings accumulated by the coaching staff of D'Haran alongside a superstar laden team, the Empire is one of the favorites to win everything here in Pineapple.
D'Haran has invested heavily into their offense fielding a full Super Oline and a Super HB and WR. They even have a running QB and a Passing QB which is sure to give them an edge in Rookie where QB running is often harder to stop.
On defense they are fielding a full Supered Dline who seem set up to be a Spin Cycle line which are relatively powerful in Rookie particularly. However, they also seem to have intentions of playing a hybrid defense with a limited amount of stars and opting to use depth to try to allow them to swap players in and out as they need.
I'm certain this strategy may work out fine down the road but it is a sticking point for Rookie where Zone is strictly worse than Man and may be the slight edge other teams need to take them out.
I expect D'Haran Empire to make it to the playoffs and winning their division, and expect them to be of the last two teams standing when we get to the big game.
----------
*Minnesota Lumberjacks* owned by Distracto6
The Lumberjacks have a little bit of star power to them, fielding a Super QB and WR - however, their Owner seems to be very new and their trait selection is not going to do them any favors here in Rookie.
Just with the passing attack alone I might have favored them to win in a division like Alpha, but Gamma is the toughest division of the bunch and I do not expect them to make it to the playoffs.
*Airborne Screaming Eagles* owned by Hzachary1
Another super team with a combined 136 Rings to its coaching staff, the ASE have a Super QB, HB, Pulling G, TE and 2x WRs to its name on offense.
Combined with a 5-2 that is using a full Super Dline backed by the Man staple of a Super FS.
The ASE is a team that I expect to easily make the playoffs either through the Wild Card or through winning the division, but who ultimately will fall short against the next team in the list due to some of the vulnerabilities of the 5-2 and some of the design decisions of the teams offensive scheme.
*Gridiron Goolies* owned by BoDiddley
BoDiddley is a coach with 12 rings and crucially, all of them earned as an owner. Many people consider Bo to be one of the more dominant OCs in the game and his Goolies reinforce that idea - fielding a Super QB, HB, 2x TEs and a WR alongside what is presumably a Super Pulling Guard. The Goolies are all set to throw the football in the Tier that passing is at it's strongest. Combined with them having what is sure to be a scrambling QB in Freddy Krueger II that GGs are going to be extremely difficult to stop this season.
On defense things fair a bit better for the rest of the league as Bo has skimmed here, fielding only 2 Super DTs and a Super CB.
That said however, I predict the offensive firepower that Bo has at his disposal here combined with his pedigree at offense makes him the favorite to not only win the division but also to win the league.
League Prediction: Gridiron Goolies over D'Haran Empire (28-7)
