How come DTs & DEs can pancake a man and then run right over them without being slowed down by the grounded player. But a HB can never just run/jump right over a grounded defender. They always have to go around them and are not good at doing so. It shouldn't require any carry awareness to run around or jump over a downed defender. A 5 yr old would do that on instinct. Currently, a 350 lbs D lineman can run around a downed 350 lbs O lineman faster than a 5'11", 211 lbs HB can get around an average-sized pancaked cornerback. The HB will just get tackled.

Defenders can get off the ground from being pancaked in time enough to make a tackle. This can be fixed with a dazed/dizzy/stunned period; If you got pancaked your balance should be off for 2 seconds after you get up. A very small percentage of defenders can make a tackle on an HB running at them full speed right after being pancaked.

Indeed, it's been a problem for a long time but any time I've brought it up it's been kinda dismissed - which makes sense given how strong the run game is compared to the pass rush or run defense.

But, I 100% agree with the sentiment - runners treat downed players as threats when they should not for the most part.

Life is a journey, you don’t care about the destination, you care about the scenery along the way and the mood of seeing the scenery.
Others laughed at me as crazy, I laughed at others and couldn't see through.

Ah crap! Just when I thought HBs had too much love in this sim.

Another issue is runners choosing to run between blocking interactions for no good reason, instead of running behind them or cutting upfield. They choose to run between the defender and blocker. It only really happens on elusive running a lot, but all styles will do it from time to time.
