How about instituting a player trading system? There could be a forum called Trading Block where teams or players list players who are on the block and what's needed to make the trade happen. The trade deadline could be day 6 of the season? It will be just like the NFL where not a lot of players are traded but the teams who have mismatching pieces could switch players to fill gaps, meet salary caps etc.

One thing I've learned from trying to acquire a player my team wanted is to contact the owner of the team first. This makes me think how trades will only work if all parties involved are in good faith. And something would need to happen if all parties agree, then a GMs cut players for a trade and the players don't keep their word. Regardless, I think this would be cool to implement.

Thanks for reading!

Without cash, or player willingness there's no point or incentive

Kinda pointless, and agents rarely want to be traded to a team they didn't sign up for.

But the "teams looking for players" thread is not useless and pointless? If a team was looking for players they would indeed look at the trading block. Let's say we started as a running team and now want to switch to a passing team it would be advantageous if we found another team with similar desires to go from passing to running so we make a trade to switch linemen.

If you don't like it just don't participate. What does it hurt?

Like corndog said, what about an agent that didn't sign up to be on one team and now is stuck there for a season. Just to refuse to resign at seasons end because they didn't want to be there.

plus both teams could just release those players and the player's sign contracts with that team if they wanted. Same thing, that we already have.

We do appreciate your ideas though!! But, as CD and Dredgar said, it won't work.

It would only work with an opt-in league where everyone has agreed to play a more NFL style player agency.

A good thing for the next GLB Draft if we ever get it done maybe. But yeah, outside of that people won't go for it.
