We're back with another build of the week, this time with a more "outside the box" build of one of the most critical pieces on defense; the FS.
A quick disclaimer is of course, that these are just my opinions and while I've found success building my way that it may not be for everyone and others may find just as much success or more doing it their own way instead. But for those looking for a starting point, this is it.
Criticisms of the build and alternatives are welcome below!

The Sell
So with that out of the way - let's look at the final build we'll be diving into today. A FS inspired by the Strong Safeties of the former team, Olympus Brood.
So let's talk about the star of the post:

For those unaware Olympus Brood had a very unusual defensive scheme. They went massively into Power Tackling and Speed but did so at the complete abandonment of Pursuit. For most builds, this would instantly make it a non-starter. But, Kvothe had an interesting idea, what if he also had a bunch of Toughness on all his players and took the SA "Resolute"? Would it make up for his lack of Pursuit and awareness? This interesting question had a resounding answer.
"Kind of"?
Ultimately the defense for various reasons never quite played out like Kvothe had hoped - but this idea of Resolute on the defense and stacking Toughness has bounced around in my mind ever since and I think the build today is a good mixture of traditional "meta" ideas with new flavoring inspired by Kvothe's odd defensive stratagem.
What does this leave us with? Ideally, a veritable rocket on defense who not only finds the ball carrier but is completely unshakable once he does so - and when he hits him, the play is over.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keypoints
Keypoints of this particular Archetype is 80 Toughness. This is going to power two of our 3 SAs in Resolute and Brick Wall.
90 Speed and 50 Quickness allows us to be screaming fast, but hopefully maintain our balance which our 70 Balance should also help with.
Lastly, 90 Tackling Tech and 90 Pursuit. Find the ball carrier and bring him down.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level 5
So let's get into the leveling segments of this build. Here's our FS at level 5.
http://www.glb2scout.com/vpimages/330_NEW_1653843890.png
By god, we want Pursuit and we want it NOW! The FS' number one job is contain the outside run. What's the most effective run in Rookie? Runs to the outside. We cut the head off that immediately, no running into pile ups for us. Find the ball carrier. It's all we care about.
With that done, our priority is to not get tired and get faster. By playoffs we could look something like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level 10
http://www.glb2scout.com/vpimages/330_NEW_1653844121.png
By level 10, we want our Cover Expert at full effectiveness and our Conditioning to be done. We're going to be running around the field A LOT and we cannot afford to lose speed. We are the missile of justice.
Throughout the rest of Sophomore, RBs are going to become wildly dangerous and we need to increase our tackling to bring them down while getting faster. We also put up Brick Wall to begin to help out in this regard on occassion.
By playoffs, we could look like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level 15
http://www.glb2scout.com/vpimages/330_NEW_1653844329.png
Speed! We need to keep getting faster. We're beginning to take the Brick Wall SA into useful territory and need to start considering Toughness shortly. It should begin to rise throughout Jman.
By playoffs, we could look like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level 20
http://www.glb2scout.com/vpimages/330_NEW_1653844504.png
As we keep getting faster our supporting attributes in Balance and Footwork need to hit their end points. Resolute is on the table finally and its time to take our Toughness to its limit.
By playoffs, we could look like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level 25
http://www.glb2scout.com/vpimages/330_NEW_1653843218.png
We get our last bit of Sprinting and finish out our Pass Defense.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope this write up shed some light on this particular Archetype and fosters some discussion around the build and how it can improve - and other ways to build throughout its career. Hoping this helps someone!
