Yeah once a player goes out of bounds they seem to get their vectors flipped or something.

Defenders don't have a way of knowing that a HB cannot run out of bounds, so they treat pursuit like they need to be able to chase the HB in case he just starts running off in that direction, leading to them running themselves upfield in certain situations and running right out of bounds in others like this.
