maybe college rules applied? In college a first down stops the clock, total guess

Didn’t know that’s a rule, that’s one way to make a game more exciting

It only stops the clock until they move the chains. So they would have to get the FG unit on the field and snap the ball in about 10 seconds.

I have no idea if it works in this game like that but I know for a fact in College football every First Down stops the clock until the ref sets the ball and is ready again.
