Something like this:
You have a special league that lasts one season, maybe even only once a year, and each league has unique rules. For example, in this league everyone is given the same starting player builds - the caps and attributes and sometimes even entire builds are predetermined by a GM, or perhaps some of their points are already spent, i.e., receivers must start with 100 vertical but have freedom to round out the build however they like. There would also be restrictions on the playbook, with one league forcing teams to set and use all 15 plays per each playbook formation (so no spam) or another that removes blitzes from the playbook entirely. The general idea is just that each league would make for unique and rewarding coaching experiences, since you can't win off the backs of familiar, comfortable cookie cutter builds/plays and you have to instead put the pieces of each puzzle together every time a new league comes out, with whatever crazy mechanics the devs can think up. It would have all the excitement of playing GLB for the first time, because there is no meta, no expectations, and basically infinite room to improve. As a constantly running league I think this would be far too much (and too much work for the devs) but as a special event, once in a year type thing I think maybe it could work. Thoughts?
