Scheme out your team direction? I remember for a while it was (big guys CIT) while physicals was relatively untouched. These days I’m seeing a lot of speed only just to run play action.

Does anyone actually scheme out the builds or play style of their team and then choose the plays that best suits their players?

Personally this is my first run doing it fully, and the only thing I can say is the defensively it’s so easy to get things done. It’s easy to move pieces around, and it makes the full defensive depth chart formations absolutely imperative.

Offensively I can’t complain much. Yeah there are times when the “wtf is that” feeling is too overwhelming (mostly bc zone is absolutely outlandish and very inconsistent: either big play or turnover/knocked loose immediately) but it’s been great to watch the route running, the space separation, and just noticing how little CIT really means towards a “dominant receiver”. Of course my system is pretty dink n dunk, so it’s great to see “matchup nightmares” not in the form of 6’6 receivers. I feel like I’m actually building a team instead of spamming height (the super little guys just for speed irritates me as well bc i see so manny of them used poorly) all the time.

If there’s anyone who does (hell or is even interested) this please please please comment. The game’s already dead as far as engagement goes, but I’d love to hear from the few who actually traverse the forums. What are your most successful schemes/systems and what have you the inkling that it might work?

so the way we built our team, The Bengals, is when me and NDirish were finding agents to make players we didnt tell them exactly how to build each stats each game. we offered a lot of suggestions on how we thought the team should be built, but ultimately we let the agent build what ever player they trully wanted. we wanted everyone to be happy with the team the coaches andso far i feel weve done that. one of the most active forums between GLB1 and GLB2 that im on.

i only run the offense, but the diversity of builds makes it fun in a way for me. we have 1-2 WR with a little blocking allowing us decent outside rushing, we have our speedy straight out the gate burner WR, then we have our S*TE and slot WR for redzone and third downs, but we didnt plan for any of it lol coaches offered advice and suggestions on how we think each agent could level up their player to best benefit the team in our opinions, but still their decision. so far its been absolutly a blast, had a few rivals and its only sophmore season (bulls we will beat you one day lol)

ive seen a few teams who are owned and filled roster from only 1-3 agents, i can only assume they have a specific build for each player to go with a specific pre determined scheme their wanting to run.

Edit: when you have agents like Shoota, Agerm, and couple others building dots for your team, you dont tell them what to build your first season every owning/coaching a team lol you let big dogs eat ha

Ever since last preseason I have been planning out my entire team on both offense and defense, building and rebuilding players and harassing any and everyone for advice. I even wiggled my way onto the Gliwce Lions to study their defense.

When I build teams I have a clear vision of what type of offense and defense I want to run and just go from there. I make every player fit exactly into whatever I'm trying to get done on either side of the ball. It gets to a point where every player for each position has the exact same build.

theres absolutely nothing wrong with this. your owner, you have a vision, you make it happen. if you have agents on same page as you it does make your game planning, i wouldnt say easier, but its more focused.

i wanted to try and bring back the feeling of the first few seasons of both GLB classic and GLB2, that feeling of random agents making random dots and trying to win. good game planning from both sides of the ball by multiple people, trying to get that team together like a band of misfits lol brings more suprise to our games, which player is gonna be the star this week, our CBs switch up each week on interceptions, one game our LBs gets the FFum next its the DE, idk almost a mystery factor to it lol

I have made whole teams, recruited teams and done collaborations. I have had the most fun with active teams with diversity.
I will usually make my own team if I want to test something out or cannot fill it with other agents.
I have tried the mostly CPU player team and that was the least enjoyable for me.

I know what scheme I am planning to use and we build each player to fit that scheme. I have all the builds posted for every position. Once the players are made I try to let agents do whatever, I don’t want to micromanage their builds. Having them use the starting templates keeps them from going too far off base. On my current team we experimented and took some chances and In hindsight it was clearly a mistake.

I always try to plan out player builds with a team scheme. Sims changes though usually can really impact plans by the time a team reaches Vet.

yeah i build kinda for a scheme but give ideas for a baseline for positions then let the agent kinda run with it a bit with suggestions for the most part an if they are newer agents i give reasons for my suggestions just to help them a bit more

I think most start out with this idea at Rookie, but, by the time you get to Vet, you've had agents go MIA or sign players elsewhere, sim changes, etc., so everyone ends up just trying to make the best of what they have. Unless you own the team and every player on it, it's difficult to pull off.
