Okay everyone Greg's been doing some research and I'm here to inform you all that this game is NOT dying. Not nearly as fast as some of you people think it is anyway. I know, I know, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But look.
https://prnt.sc/u2dl0u
This is a google trend of the game for over the past year. Although the last date noted is July 26th the chart actually extends up to present day. As you can see the search results vaguely rise and fall with the coming and going of each season. Short term we consistently are bringing in roughly the same number of players each season. In fact our last one that began around in July had and above average player turnout compared to the last 2.
Now look at this.

This is the search result for the game over the past 3 years. (2018, 2019, 2020) Now admittedly some things about these two charts don't make too much sense because when compared to each other they should be the exact same towards the end. All I did was just extend the time factor on the graph but google trends is free so I'm not complaining. Keep in mind that due to the larger size of the graph for the most part you are unable to see the sustained player base throughout the various seasons via the plateau we saw displayed in the first graph.
Although the general trend of the game over several years is going down very recently we had the biggest boost in search results. I honestly think this is because COVID-19. My theory is that old players are bored stuck inside so they're coming back to play the game. The main point being following these trends this game ha a lot left in the tank. I honestly think it's going to be here for another decade.
