What are some point levels you guys recommend for these skills- Blitz Awr, Pass Rush Tech, Pass Rush Power, Balance, Footwork, Quickness, Sprinting, Snap Reaction, Intimidation

Is Tunnel Vision a must? Do we not care about the negative impact to Blitz Awr?

This one started out as a Blitzing OLB, but ended up adding a lot of pass coverage:

I like Tunnel Vision with Power pass rush technique, but you can get good results going pure speed with First Step and Evasive technique, like this guy:

At higher levels, Tunnel Vision is key to notching up sacks as opposed to hurries. QBs and WRs at the Vet level are just too fast. Even unblocked blitzers just can't get home most of the time against any halfway decent offense.

What Tunnel Vision does is trick QBs into thinking they have more time than they do. QBs don't anticipate the extra sprint burst from TV halfway through the rush, and it sometimes catches them before they release the ball. You need about 25 pass rush power to fire it off consistently, and it's required for any pass rush specialist.

The negative Blitz Awr does hurt, but any serious pass rusher needs to have Tunnel Vision. Don't choose it if you want to be a run stopper.

Do you just ignore putting any points into Blitz Awr then?

I still put points into Blitz Awr.

It's cheap and makes you a little less of a liability on runs. A few points of quickness or power tackling will buy you lots of blitz awr.

This is what my blitzer looks like. Didn't fully sell out on blitzing though. Has a strong blitzing lean though with some other skills mixed in.

That's a nice build.

My takeaway here is less technique and more physicals.

For the most part. Blitzing is mpre about just getting pressure on quality teams in Vet. Stacking physicals is what gets you there and hopefully you can snag a sack or two occassiinally against a quality opponent spamming offensive pass plays that rarely give up sacks. Worst case scenario, you dont get sacks but limit how far up field their receivers get and hopefully limit YPA on their passing plays as a result.

If you’re not wasting SPs on tech your LB doesn’t need to be a one trick pony as well. You can make him a very fast blitzer and a decent Will LB who is not a liability in other situations.

For sure! Versatility is key for defensive players.
