Juke fires off elusive running and quickness, and elusive is just a little more important to it firing.

High quickness is great, but without the footwork he is going to be hard pressed to be able to help blockers get to defenders by altering his path, and won't be able to throw off pursuit as well. And Juke is 'controlled' by footwork so his jukes will more or less always be the same, meaning the activation could throw off his mobility and give less of a chance to get away from the guy who he fools, but the higher quickness and therefor acceleration makes up for that entirely I'd imagine.

It's a game of tradeoffs, with 30 footwork he is going to have a hard time improvising on the outside and will need blocking to get him into a one-on-one situation for him to break a tackle, he's not going to be as effective at off-tackle runs as well since they require a lot of shifting to throw off defenders pursuit. But inside he is going to be a much more effective runner than a footwork-first kind of guy, only so much room you can shift in, but breaking ankles can create more room in tight situations.

If your o-line is mobile and well built a footwork-first guy can get more out of it, if they have just okay mobility you should be looking for either a powerback or a quickness-first kind of guy to help break the tackles they will not be able to get to no matter how much the HB helps them.

I'd still lean toward the quickness as the 'meta' since it is more effective at being a part of the whole, but footwork guys, especially once they get their confidence up, can just take over the field with their running - provided RBA and footwork/sprint on linemen isn't all that bad.

That's a good meta elusive back if I've ever seen one

The footwork things I'm talking about are when the HB alters a juke like this:

https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/623526/1771736

He limits the side to side motion of the juke while moving forward still to split the difference between tacklers

That's a minor adjustment though, some more massive ones can be seen here:

https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/623526/1771795

He removes almost all righthand motion on the juke and propels himself very hard left to avoid defenders

https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/623526/1772107

I don't know if I'd call that a good juke actually, but it got him a little extra room and he almost pulled that off, definitely not the 'standard' juke motion though.

https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/623526/1772618

Here he uses Juke essentially as a counter, hardly moving left before making a huge sweeping righthand move, pretty creative stuff - wish I'd taken the rushing awareness to 95.

https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/623526/1773304

limiting side-to-side movement so he still stays inside while throwing off OLB and waiting on inside lane to develop more.

Admittedly, the thing he uses juke for most often though, is to get out of bounds without being tackled. Saves his energy/morale to do so and I'm glad he uses that outlet once things get tight. The more he builds confidence the more he pulls fun stuff like this.

What your speed, awr, foot, quick at? I'm guessing he's not a super fast guy but is relying more on juking guys?

The initial HB is 95 sprint, the guy I linked these other plays from is 100 sprint.

Awr is 75 for both, quickness is 50 on both, footwork is 75 on the first guy 80 on this other one.
