What the heck does it actually do? Description states: Shrug off the effects of stuns and fakes, based on toughness

What is considered a stun and a fake?

I noticed the Resolute Ability is available for every position. I'm curious how it would be used by each position?

Thanks!

It's mostly used by offensive lineman to negate the stun effect of Spin Cycle. I've seen it fire for some LBs too, presumably as a counter to Head Fake or Pump Fake.

My OT has Resolute Ability on Gold and it hardly fires and even when it does it still sucks against spin cycle. I haven't seen it fire against Tunnel Vision or Break Run Block so I can't really comment on that.

It's pretty solid stopgap for o-line, FBs, and sometimes, for LBs, as a stop-gap to prevent the stun part of certain SAs.

The reason it's not going off for the above folks is two-fold:

1. The SAs that activate them (Spin Cycle, Shed Block, etc) are generally low level in those leagues.

2. It works best when used in tandem with SAs like Leverage. Linemen that combine Gold Leverage and Gold Resolute get really good results against pass-rush:
- 40% of the time, side-to-side movement of opponent (DT or DE) is cut by 100% (it's unclear how it fits into multipliers).
- When Spin Cycle goes off, there's a 75% chance of not being stunned--meaning OT can actually react to the spin with Footwork, assuming Pass Block Awareness is decent.

3. All else being equal, Gold Resolute eliminates the stun part from gold Shed Block all but 20% of the time it goes off (the stun happens 75% of the time it goes off). While the DE/DT still maximizes their "side-to-side" movement, Resolute ensures they can at least move with them and aren't caught in quicksand. In order to really benefit from it, you need at least a decent amount of footwork and block awareness.

4. 9 times out of 10, when people claim it's not working, it turns out that their o-linemen has like 40-45 toughness and low blocking awareness--so they can't take advantage of the benefit much anyway since they quickly get caught out of position. Take it with a grain of salt.

Building to take advantage of SAs means ignoring the previous "consensus" on what best builds look like. Most people are just trying newer SAs with the same builds.

It's not supposed to fire against Tunnel Vision. It's supposed to be used as a stun-breaker.
