True but just calling defensive plays shouldn't be some scientific equation. It should be about calling a play to counter a play. Instead it's some awful system that just doesn't work. Just calling the play you want shouldn't even be something you have to think about at all. It is literally impossible to call a play more often than not. How the hell would you even try to enplane to a new player how to call a play on defense? I guess I would try....
"Well distances and run pass mean nothing. They are just tags. You have to call the same kind of play for every formation even if the offense doesn't have to. You can't call that short blitz play against 2WR on 3rd and long because you called a medium flat play against the 2TEs. You can't do that either because you called a long outside run play against the 3WR set. Fuck it, figure it out yourself. If you are around a couple RL years from now you will figure out you can't do shit, and you can't do that either because you called piss on something totally unrelated. Well good luck!"
