I originally set off to build a DT was sort of a versatile NT: the dot wouldn't be pushed around in the trenches to prevent Surge-heavy backs from reaching open field, holding his ground at the goal line and red zone, and could anchor a 3-4 defense if needed. (That's why I went silver in Unstoppable Force.)

A few questions here:

1. Any thoughts on if a player like this could be particularly useful?

2. More balance? Heart?

3. Maybe less Footwork and Speed?

4. General thoughts or comments?

For a S* i think his pass rush tech is a bit too low, 80 would be best, you really don't need all this def consistency for a DT, 40 is fine, i go even lower, 50 if you are scared, you can try lower toughness a bit to save sps, 60-65, maybe hold ground 60 to get more sps.

1-He is good
2-Caked 52 times, yes more balance, would get 55-60, heart 40 is optimal
3-Wouldn't lower, 70 seems like the magic number, and sprinting is always good, its hard to get but 40 is the lowest i would get, on my builds i'm trying 60-70

I wouldn't get unstoppable force or RW/HH bronze, i prefer first step, death grip, brick wall, monster hit, or upgrade showboat, dont get bronze skills, gold or silver.

I've heard arguments against going with power tackling skill and monster hit ability at the DT position because he never gets enough speed going to use it effectively.

Brick Wall I tend to prefer more than Monster Hit. Or Death Grip.

As for build. I am think 90+ for both conditioning and Run Awareness.

Drop power tackle some. Max grip and pass rush tech. Get intim up fairly high. Silver beat down.

Intimidation on the lines are king now. Demoralize the hell out of the opponent.

This. I silver brick wall on almost every defender.

Yeah MH doesnt proc much, but it helps on STs and for some big games, power tackling is always good, helps bringing down running backs more easily, and its very helpfull for very short situations
