Truthfully, if it was still fully supported and updated beyond whatever the point was where they decided to bring it "out of beta"? Yes, it was a better game and far more in depth.

But having said that, that game has played its hand and now people are looking for easier adaptations because nobody has time for complex strategy football anymore. So this is a nice play in this day of age. Not to mention player building is so much more seamless here. The grind of building a player in Classic is bonkers. I can't believe guys still log in so much to do it.

I played it for years before migrating over here. I love strategy as much as the next guy but honestly who the fuck would rather watch dots run around compared to player animation? It's no comparison in my eyes.

This...the player animation vs dots is the biggest plus in GLB2.

Only thing I miss about GLB1 is the play editor

It was a ton of work but I enjoyed team ownership and building parts of the stadium up, setting concession prices etc

i dunno that was the easiest part of the game to me. almost kinda nonsensical really when you were a winning team. should have been more elements to it making it not mostly about winning since the rich got richer.

i loved the promotions. hyping up one player tremendously or an entire team just a bit is a nice homefield advantage detail this game lacks imo.

no doubt if you could adapt the 2 together it would have been cool. altho one thing about dots is that their size allowed for quicker play and more ground covered allowing hbs and fbs the ability to be properly used in the passing game.

When I ran the Farkistan Squirrels back in Season 1 (or was it 2) we had like 15 people building dots and so I had to keep dealing with their contracts, encouraging everyone to take minimums so we could flesh the stadium out first, etc. We kept winning and eventually had all the money we needed so then later it was more fun, we ran a "penny beer night" just for shits and giggles.

Later it became a chore when they all wanted max contracts and bonuses for training... and we HAD the money but I had to give it out on demand, and I had to tell them all to set coverage variables and blah blah blah.

So while it was a ton of fun it also was at times a lot of work.

for sure. which was the pain of it. altho then you could realize you could own all the players yourself and straight kill it.

although those days were very sloppy as the only way you could compete was to either have created a lot of players in the original season or coerce those season 1 guys into playing on your team because maximum level didnt exist and every 8 levels was huge for +4 equip into the major thing (generally speed on almost every position).

I did like the stadium building. Also feel like the Veteran Abilities were really good, while GLB2's SAs are very hit and miss.

the tree was a much more fluid was of sas than this. the tree allowed you to work your way towards invincability. this concept seems like you either suck or you dont at the best abilities.
