Basically users create plays, we vote, and like a total of 2-6 plays be added to both sides of the ball. I've branched out from the normal set of plays most vets use and I've found there are some good ones. If we slowly increase variety it could help keep new and old users interested. Many users clearly have ideas on plays that they think would run well so they make it and submit it to a special forum or something. The plays chosen would be a mix between upvotes and which ones bort and corndog think won't be completely stupid or useless. This gets everyone interested and such. the plays chosen will also add variety and can be useful in broadening offense and defense even more. How? Well say 3 of the plays chosen on defense are plays that put the SS closer to the box. Safeties would then require more quickness to keep up with the TE when he comes off the line or when pushing the edge to get to the ball carrier. This would also mean that The FS out deep would need alot of quickness, sprinting, and awareness as well in order to react to plays out deep faster. That's important because the positioning of the SS would mean the CBs are in one on one more other with no help over the top and that would create a need for CBs with better recovery speed. Now clearly this wouldn't change a whole teams build creation process or anything, but if your using these plays often enough because they run well for you then there's be a slight deviation from their norm. All in all, who wouldn't want to see the safety play closer to the box.
On offense, we could defintely use more plays with cuts considering people are gonna build for ints now. The long plays were outrageous, but now I don't think much people are gonna just chuck it down the field all game every game anymore, and making quickness more important than just for first step would mean more quickness to shake CBs, which would lead to less ints imo (so no, no buff is needed, just better short & intermediate plays)
Even if you don't ctually choose a play, saying you'll consider doing it would get forum activity up a bit and should lead to more productive discussions. I also think users would enjoy doing it so there's something to get us off your backs for another season, maybe.
