How about making players salary useful as a minor part of the game?
My suggestion is this, sell stuff for players to consume prior to gameday.
1 Taco $5 (Players Salary) +1 Vison (since it isn't an attribute yet)
1 Nachos $8 (Players Salary) +1 Instinct (since it isn't an attribute yet)
Cap the amount of items a player can consume before a game so it doesn't get taken advantage of.
Here's an added idea to include to generate game revenue to keep evolving the game...
Charge a 1 time flex cost for each player to access the shop to buy stuff with their hard earned salary..
Just some examples that could use further assistance and further thought
