Good idea or bad idea to use the "catch up" feature due to creating my player midseason? I've continued to put it off, but I'm wondering if it'd just be best for me to go ahead and do so?

Further context because that answer isn't very helpful... It says if I do it, I will get the skill points to level up... however, he will not receive credit for games played, which may put the player at a disadvantage on the leader boards. Just don't know how important the leader board ends up being over the career of your player or not... or what that really even means?

Leader boards isn't a BIG deal. It's cool if you end up on the all time ranks but it has no effect towards your player capabilities or anything like that.

I would definitely suggest to catch up
