Simply put, a team only has so many plays per game, so efficiency is huge. If I can give a RB 20 carries and net 300 yards, that means I can also give 30-40 possessions(typical game) to other plays. However, if I'm giving 40 carries to a RB and netting 310 yards, then I can only give around 10-20 possessions. Clearly, one would rather have 300 yards and another 40 plays as opposed to 310 yards and just 20 left for passes and other runs. A team like Vape is so good because Rashard gives them 10.2 ypc, and their QB throws for 8.1 YPA. Conversely....Empire's offensive has been really bad because Drago 2.0 is at 5.2 ypc and Cobra Commander is at 4.6 ypc.

If I get 5 yards a carry consistently I'm happy. You get three plays to make a first down. I like to limit possessions and keep my defense fresh. Rashard got 1.6ypc against us today while our HB got 4.2 mostly inside. Almost every outside run in that game went absolutely no where.

So you are saying a great QB is responsible for the high YPC rather than the HB being great, not a good argument in trying to make a case for the HB.

Never said a QB is responsible for a RB's high ypc, only one I mentioned was Vape's QB and his high ypa(per pass). Their offense is great because Rashard consistently break big runs(10+ yards), and the QB passes for a high yards per attempt.

Should also point out that Rashard only had 29 TFLs on 948 attempts, which is the best ratio of any of the top RBs this season. And looking at stats with Stobie's tool, I don't see TFLs really being a big percentage of any RB's carries. V Phillips led the league by far with 214 TFLs, but only had 5.0 ypc. Messi was #2 with 181, but also had a lukewarm year for him at 8.1 ypc. Son of Havoc had the #1 ypc and only 22 TFLs, Tecmo Russell was #2 and had 77 TFLs, and Fritz was #2 and had just 24 TFLs.
