And why the hell are you bragging about getting a TD against a 1-8 team in a game you lost? Don't get me wrong, Galactic has had a tough start to the season but get over yourself already.

It's real simple.

straight lines = speed and quickness
curvy lines = footwork

He was zig-zagging across the field, footwork lets you loop around and shift left and right while keeping the pedal down and facing upfield.

They are different skills, one lets you cut harder the other lets you adjust more.

curvy lines = quickness as well. Just read the descriptions of the skills...footwork is for side stepping and backpedaling, quickness is for changing direction quickly.

Uhhhhh...did you read my post? Curvy lines (like the one in the example) is quickness. Footwork is hoping from side to side, side stepping or back pedaling. He has almost 0 investment in footwork.

Not exactly, if you watch a 35 quickness 55 footwork guy vs a 55 quickness 35 footwork guy you can literally see they approach things in totally different ways even with the exact same build otherwise.

footwork allows you to avoid having to turn, you can 'shift' sideways more while still running forward instead of having to zig-zag. the descriptions aren't the god-given truth about everything, been that way since glb1 days when everyone learned that for some reason Bort made blocking a skill that HELPED BREAK BLOCKS AS A DEFENDER.

That being said, I'm talking about sidestepping in a way. If you're running in a lane on a track, moving from side to side in that lane doesn't require you to stop running forward - that kind of movement in the game is most definitely heavily tied to footwork and paired with rushing awareness helps your back 'lead' defenders to blockers and help blockers positioning by adjusting their own without having to stop and make a cut. The more footwork the more freedom to move while still sprinting in a 'straight' line.

It helps mobility in a different way, it helps you get the most out of space instead of trying to create more of it, it helps you shift blockers into position instead of allowing you to cut and change the blocking game. They are different but both important to mobility for their own reasons.
