One word sums up everything else I am about to say, and its what this game so desperately lacks... Parity..you've heard the term, and despite its ugly nature it is what makes Real Football the greatest game on the planet. The fact that just when you think you have the NFL figured out, the unexpected happens, the NFC Champ Panthers fall on their faces the following season, or the wild card Giants beat the undefeated Patriots in the playoffs, or the Bears beating the Vikings on Monday Night Football, its proven year in and year out on any given day any team can beat any other team, can we say that here? There needs to be more randomness in the results of each play, if random team run Trips HB Pitch Strong against random team running Nickel 335 Over Will Mike Blitz what are the expected results? I dont have scout but Im guessing The Pitch goes for 10 yards or more a large percentage of the time, and for a loss almost never, these results would NEVER stay that predictable in real football for a multitude of reasons (1. Humans miss assignments and make mistakes, 2. Great Players make great plays 3. Football isnt rock-paper-scissors etc) Maybe Im way off but it seems that the only seaason we go into not knowing who is going to the playoffs top of the ladder etc is rookie after that we know pretty much how the tier wil stack up for the rest of its run, barring folds and resets, and that isnt football.

That's where I think the combination of Man awareness, zone awareness, pursuit, and blitz awareness should kick in stronger.
The players should read the play faster and react. Instead they blindly do their job, while the other half the field is empty

There certainly is parity tho. Look at vet this season. Outside of bsb everyone has been knocking each other around.
if (big if) you divide the game into 3 segments:
- player builds
- playbook/tactics
- rng/luck
what % should rng / luck be?
honest question

An overload pass blitz vs a run the opposite way probably should have bad results imo. You're pretty much taking two LBs completely out of the play.

Yup. And we certainly don't need teams running 100% over will with great results regardless of what the oc calls.
As a DC in this game there are certainly play calls that are built to stop every play in the book but they are highly susceptible to many other plays as well. Which is fun.

I dont disagree, I used those 2 plays as a glaring example but you can pick any O play vs any D play and the results are too easily predictable in most cases.
