Think about what type of player you NEED for the scheme he'll be playing in. Once you have that sorted out then it'll be easier to help you. Because honestly speaking, you don't need a hard hitting or stripping safety, but if your going to utilize him in such a way then your good. If you want him to cover the TE then you won't get anything but high tackling tech and good grip.

Figure out what you need rather than what you want and it'll be much easier for you

This is it right here. Run lean you likely be a little faster and better tackle skills with lower cover skills. Cover build will be little lower speed and much higher cover skills and just enough tackling. But you want him to be pretty dang good at one and only enough to not get creamed by the other. Your DC should be able to help you decide what you want or what he wants you to be more sure at in his game plan

Sorry for frustrating you, believe me I am really trying to narrow down my build to what I w̶a̶n̶t̶ need my safety to do.

Goals:
#1 Cover the TE
#2 Tackle almost everything on the field solo.

Only two things I need. Can the build below help me get there if I adjust SA's or something else?

Help me understand through this player, 21 Average.

What were you going for? What are you sacrificing with 1 Strength, 1 confidence, and 3 Stamina?

Speed and coverage ability while also being able to get to the ball carrier when necessary

This player is much more suited for what your 2 goals are than Benjamin...he has higher Pass Defense caps and Tackle Tech. The low stamina hasn't hurt him too much because of the Workhorse trait but your SS has better Power Tackling and Grip.

Don't be afraid to min/max starting attributes. Most of the top builds in the game do just that. You want to be REALLY GOOD at one maybe two things being a Superstar.

Totally right, but I still like my player. Grip and power will help when the Heavy Run meta sets in as I'll be on the field for more plays. My extra conditioning will really help that too. His player has awesome coverage skills but I have the advantage in Def Consistency. That's important when you aren't trying to make to many mistakes in the back end of the field. My player is a bit more rounded that a highly specialized player but he fits the scheme that he'll be playing in for the rest of his career as he can be more versatile and stay on the field more often.

I agree with you except the versatility part, my player is more versatile

Ya I can't get past my offensive roots. Probably why I don't have an owner trophy yet...in 7 years.

Why the hell am I posting in a defensive FAQ thread??
