So SF and Oakland don't have the same weather? Ive been giving the impression northern Cali was pretty nice weather. Only to warm during the dead of summer and nice most the rest of the year. Never been there to know though.

No, absolutely not. SF is on a peninsula with all those "overly happy" people and gets a wicked wind right off the ocean nearly year round. Oakland is inside the bay on the east shore and tends to be warmer by a lot and milder winds, more fog.
