I don't have an exact percentage on how often it fires, it seems like a good amount though. What is more telling to me is how it lets him shake free of a tackler before he gets gang tackled and instead he's off to the races for a big gain. The tackling grip reduction combined with the speed boost do seem to help him break some big gains.

Good to know guys. It's feels a little pricy (calculated around 6% total SP budget to get up to 55 intimidation), plus the stat itself doesn't serve too much purpose anymore, but there seems like a nice payoff where it can happen on any given play. Think we're going to try to experiment with it.

I think morale damage is underrated these days. You can't build a team around it, sure, but it isn't completely useless.

Do you think Freight Train is better than Stiff Arm?

Not to mention the weather affects may add to it when the conditions are right(Late in the year when it would be best I think/cold)

Depends on the build.

I don't know, I think it works so well on Dan's PB because of his speed. like he was saying, it really helps in preventing the gang tackle. but if you didn't have his speed, would it keep you out of gang tackle situations as much?

Absolutely agreed. We're gonna try this on a 100 speed back. The idea is when he gets to the outside, frequently there's only one man that he has to beat before taking it the distance. Just the speed loss reduction by itself is intriguing enough. But added broken tackles? Lots of big play potential.

the speed loss is the thing I notice the most, he quickly breaks that tackle and rarely if ever is caught by the trailing defense after he breaks that's tackle

Dan's Pb made me a believer in it for his build for sure.

not the best examples but its helpful on counters when the defense blows through

Yeah see, that's just sexy. Each time there's only one guy in position to make a play. I'm starting to feel like this SA is criminally overlooked.Originally posted by Cuivienen

I agree. It might have been nerfed in the past, but I still feel like it's still a sizable role. Sure it gravitates back, but every minute of lower morale counts.

I should have asked you too. What was your proc rate like with 60 intimidation?

I saw it fire several times a game usually. Was pretty great. Not sure if it was worth the fumbling the lack of gold Mr. Reliable had him at, but yeah.

I ran some tape of Hammer, watched the Fury and Crystal Palace Eagles games because they were similar strength opponents. I went through each handoff, and recorded how many plays it triggered.

Crystal Palace game, Hammer ran the ball 24 times. Of those, on four plays freight train fired off once, and three additional plays it fired more than once.

7 / 24 plays = 29.17% fire rate

Fury game saw a much better rate. 21 run plays, nine of which FT fired once, two additional plays where it fired more than once.

11 / 21 = 52.38% rate

This wasn't supposed to necessarily be a demonstration of perfect data. There's plays where he runs out of bounds, isn't touched on his way to the end zone, etc. It was more to familiarize myself with how it works. There's plays where it fires and it's less beneficiai (being tackled to the ground and then firing) and quite a few where I was completely expecting it to fire in a gang tackle. Nevertheless, there's still more opportunity for this to fire in our offense (every run play there's a chance) than there is for grinder (running on third and fourth downs).

Thought I'd include my favorite highlights. These are what I'm hoping to see lots of in the future. Beast!
