I have noticed now for 2 seasons on defense that the cpu will sub players out of positions I have them listed to be consistently all game long. This is a problem because some builds are role specific and its bad to see my pass rushing speed LB playing MLB and vice versa when they are not listed to play there and have designated subs if they need a rest. My back up LB only played last game when I ran a 3-4 defense and had to come in. Is there a reason for this that I'm not aware?

Just have to make sure you do each formations depth chart. Other than that not sure why it would happen.

The starters are only listed to play in that spot, then there are a few utility guys who back up each position. There is a combo LB to back up my MLB and ROLB for example.

See, I do want them to get a rest if its just for a play or two. Their high conditioning should give them most of the snaps, however when they do come back the game does a bunch of screwy things like putting them in spots they are not listed to play. It mixes them up constantly right after the first substitution.
My defense has played well, but could be even better if this didn't happen I'd like to think.

After looking at your depth charts I have found the issue. You seem to be leaning on your default depth chart but your formation specific depth charts are partially filled out and that was causing the CPU to auto-fill the other spots in those formations instead of using the default depth chart.
If you want to use the default depth chart you have to leave everything else blank.

Just word for the wise - don't use default depth chart. Spend the extra 10-15 minutes and fill them out per formation. Saves you a lot of headaches!

Thanks guys, I never knew. I thought if it I filled specific things on certain formations and left rest blank then it would default to the main default sub package. Had no idea itd go random.
