Seems like 70 balance is a number thrown around for power backs nowadays. Can anyone provide evidence in favor of either higher or lower amounts being more beneficial?

i have seen a lot higher. part of it depends on spreed. As in if the power back has 100 sprinting and 100 power. balance may not be as needed that high as they wont always make contact. but if he is a power back with only like 60 speed then balance better be 100.

In my experience Power Backs don't need any more than 50. Maybe it's just the way I build them but × Hammered × is only at 48 and he was lighting up Gin League last season.

Maybe it was the low tackling of the Seasoned players he faced.

My PUP player OH NO HE DI'INT had 52 balance with 47 speed...

IMO if you have enough power running & conditioning, balance at 50-60 is enough.

Does anyone know WHEN the roll for balance takes place? Is it after the initial power roll? Is that why having high power would mean less need for balance?

I am thinking more balance will help against power tacklers. I am also in the belief that balance plays a roll while dragging defenders. If you have a 100 speed / 100 power HB like Dredgar stated you can get away with less balance but I believe this is due to breaking easier tackles against players in the defenses secondary on outside runs. The more important skill though would be power. Very costly though and for good reason.

Power Tackling > Tackle Grip > Tackle Tech > Balance

Power Tackling is your only hope, like 80+. The grip helps you hold on for the ride while other defenders race to your assistance...gang tackling is the only way to really stop a top flight powerback.

Hopefully the answer will lie in the 9 S* defenders that will be on BSBs second rookie-vet ride! Haha.

High tackle tech and max out grip + Death Grip.

Traits used were too expensive to squeeze more S* power while still hitting the minimum requirement for players on the roster. Didn't want to cut too much in to player builds. It will be overkill once builds are complete.

I like hight TT and Pwr Tackling to take them down myself, but a good old swarm does the job tbh.

Can't speak for anyone else, but Absolut Vodka in Seasoned had very low tackling skills. Powerbacks weren't quite a problem in-tier yet, but out-of-tier ladder matches were a lol-fest if the other team had a powerback.

I'm assuming most Seasoned teams have higher tackling skills than I had, but still not enough to really slow down a power back.
