New season upon us. At first I was disappointed with how the league changed, but it actually seems like we'll be stronger as a whole this season. A lot more tough games on the slate. So let's make some predictions dammit.
Alpha Division
This division is completely different from last year. The Couch Bums are no more, but are instead the re-branded Bottoms UPP boys, no longer plagued by an inactive owner, and inheriting some superstars from the deceased Boise St. Stallions. Phoenix is a quality team that made the move from Boxer that will be in the running for the playoffs, after making it and losing to the eventual champion Lab Rats last season. The Long Island teams would drive me nuts with their names, but both have heavy CPU rosters (one has an inactive owner) so until further notice, this is a two man race.
Prediction: Bums 2.0 win the division due to some pretty quality names across the board coaching. Phoenix keeps things close until the last game, and probably even starts out better, due to a not-quite-as-important chemistry advantage. New York-semiactive finishes 3rd, New York-non active finishes 4th.
Beta Division
Best division as a whole. Four actual teams! Deez Nuts has the highest pedigree, finishing as a top ten ladder team, making the championship game, and having zero roster turnover from last season. Blue Mountain State is another team of interest, as Tydavis has been around for some time, and after a little fiasco mid-season, is going to be a bit more hands-on with coaching this season (defense was 36th in the tier last season). Baby Bangers, man, I don't know what to think. The roster has chemistry issues, and several CPU slots. But I said this very same thing last year, and pulled out a respectable 7-7 record. Finally the newcomers, Colorado Smoke. When chronicbomb isn't busy smoking it up or destroying the English language, he's done a nice job running things. I'm excited that he put a team together (without coming up from rookie) and I'm even thinking we might get some forum presence from these guys.
Prediction: Deez Nuts is business as usual, and takes the division. BMS makes strides in the ladder games that they were losing last year, but fall a little short. Colorado smoke blaze their way to 3rd, and Baby Banger finishes 4th. 2nd-4th are all within a couple games of each other.
Gamma Division
I'm pretty excited for the future of this division. I think it's one season away from having three top teams. First up the Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. Swept league play last season, and finished as the top team in the league in ladder play at 6. The Alabama Steeldogs are the newcomers, and along with Phoenix, came from the now defunct Boxer league. They made it to the championship game, and also lost to the eventual champ Lab Rats, but in a very tight one. Weird looking over last season, where they dropped some games they had no business losing, but almost pulled out a win against the top ladder team in the championship. The New York Avengers are 2/3 of a roster, and I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone from this team speak. Finally we have LUElinks. I think we're a season away from getting a very scary LUElinks team (that secondary is pretty beastly, and I'm guessing they'll add more firepower to the offense in the future). But CPU front seven is going to hurt. Hoping they show up this season unlike last.
Prediction: LLUA has yet to lose a league game, so they earn top dawg for the time. Alabama comes in second. LUElinks 3rd, Avengers 4th.
Playoffs
LLUA (1) vs. Phoenix Undead (4)
Deez Nuts (2) vs. Bottoms UPP (3)
Championship
LLUA vs Deez Nuts
I expect a rematch of last season's championship game. These two teams have had the most success versus top teams, and I'm guessing they find their way to the big game again. LLUA is 2-0 versus Deez Nuts so far, with the first game being a blowout. However the championship game was a different story and LLUA had to come from behind to win. I'm expecting two great games between these two this season, and Deez Nuts win the championship this time around.

.....Bottoms Upp hopes to stay competitive through out the entire season this time around
