Looks like a few of the new changes have went live, nothing much has changed format wise from my phone but I did notice we have an updated create player page. Or at least a few new buttons. A few things on the home page as well.

Also appears to be a link on player pages to watch games live while the game is simming. No more inspect element!

An extra free player is awesome. Will have a look at the 'Pick Up' player, to see what that does.

I've noticed that my teams schedule isn't working at the moment, but when I clicked on the 'Game Type' dropdown on it, there was a Tourney' section. So tournaments are coming?

Did you click on it? I did, and a random game which had my team in popped up. Saying my team is a bit of a lie, though, as it had random players, and was using a random playbook too.

This always confuses people. The tourney option has always been there. With the seasonal ladder reset there really isn't much of a need for a tournament.
